MikeMeyerhoff
How often do you need to get to the unit itself? Not just the serial connection?
psu_Crash
Mine is also all tidy in the glovebox as well as all associated fuses and a terminal block. Since I use bluetooth to connect I never need to get to it anymore. But for any issues or upgrades it's a plug, vac line and 4 bolts to remove it. I see a lot of guys mount in the stock ecu location but I wanted easier accessibility. Edited August 4, 2013 by psu_Crash
MikeMeyerhoff
I don't know if I can remove the stock ecu just yet. It does fit in the glove box pretty well. The usb adaptor I have is a 4" monster that sticks out of the serial port, but even that still fits. It looks like there is a spot it would fit under the passenger seat, too. I've also got some plx modules I need to bring into the cabin somehere close to the ECU.
CaliConquestAlex
I have my megasquirt mounted in the stock ECU location as I am using the relay board which is mounted in the glove box.
TopDawg_43
I run a Haltech E6k. Mine is tucked into a crack, right beside the steering colum. If I remember correctly, its kinda wedged in there, and the bottom cover on the dash keeps it from moving or falling out. I put the hole on that side as well, as I didn't want ot run the wires on the exhaust side. I has a serial port that hangs out at the bottom of the cover, whenever I need it. Doctor_Drift
Stock location for me as well. I just have not put the cover back in yet but i made a slim serial cable with a 90 deg plug on it. The cable will stay under passenger seat for now.

ucw458
AEMs EMS-4 is small and fits perfect in the stock location. It even has an USB bulkhead so I mounted the USB port in the kick panel. http://i463.photobucket.com/albums/qq352/ucw458/MPI/DSC03834.jpg http://i463.photobucket.com/albums/qq352/ucw458/MPI/DSC03835.jpg

ZacMan
Don't want to spam too hard, as these are already in my build thread... But I did this for the ECU: (the trim mounting tabs still need to be added) http://i750.photobucket.com/albums/xx141/ProZac83/P8290003_zpse50ce283.jpg With this for the Ignition, ECU, and Fan relays, and the fuses: http://i750.photobucket.com/albums/xx141/ProZac83/Starion%20Project/P8280007_zpsbf6d5b1c.jpg http://i750.photobucket.com/albums/xx141/ProZac83/Starion%20Project/P8280002_zps632bb664.jpg My car is ofcourse RHD, but the idea should be pretty 'flippable'. The EVO V ecu shouldnt need to be touched once it's installed, as you can access everything through the mitsy debug, and the ODBII connectors, which will get put under the glovebox. aconro
I was able to mount my ecu and ignition behind the glove box, but i took my a/c condenser out. Its a tight fit but still gave me all my glove box space. getting to it is just a matter of flipping the glove box down. Im running the stock 1jz ecu
substock
I have been meaning to put these up for a few weeks now, just kept forgetting to. Scott modified an FIP ecu I had so I mount it and the relays in the stock locations. Also my cigarette lighter just stopped working (have a new one just need to install it), so for the current time so that I can use my laptop I mounted a constant +12v in the glove box http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l225/substock/Conquest/0928131050_zpsb9a9b3fa.jpghttp://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l225/substock/Conquest/0928131048_zps9580d37a.jpg
ESIrType?
I mounted mine above the glove box where there's a cross member. I think I will be moving it to the stock location since I am connecting through bluetooth now. Shawn
