  1. I mounted mine above the glove box where there's a cross member. I think I will be moving it to the stock location since I am connecting through bluetooth now. Shawn
  2. I am a little old to this thread, but yes. I can't remember that members name and haven't met him at all. He works at UnderGround Racing. Sometimes when you drive by he has his car sitting out. Shawn
  3. I will try to make it again this year. However, this time in the Starion instead of the M. We'll see how things workout. Shawn
  4. Nice work, I was looking for one about 1.5 years ago. I was able to locate some, but they weren't cheap! Great work! Shawn
  5. I've done this more than once (timing out 180). There's an easy way to know. If the valve cover is off, look at the cam gear. There's a dowel pin on it. When number 1 is at TDC the dowel will point to the 12 o'clock position. Once you are at 12 o'clock set your distrib'. I'm sure you know how to set your distrib' from there. Here's something I made and posted a while back. It makes aligning the cam easier. I've installed the cam 1 tooth off a few times. This takes the guess work out of it. http://www.starquestclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=130406entry1277564 Shawn
  6. Ha ha, yeah I just saw this. It wouldn't be the first it happened to me. Not from HeroJr though. Beer me (craft beer) and I'm down with it. Shawn
  7. That's cool! I need to some of those that says, "Reserved for Shawn's Starion" and "Reserved for Shawn's M3." The wife isn't happy her car has to sit outside. Shawn
  8. Check with this seller, here's a link to his ebay page. http://myworld.ebay....=p2047675.l2559 http://www.importpar...ush Rod&mode=PA Here's the Clevite part numbers. Note the intake are "jet valve" rockers, but you don't have to install the adjuster. INTAKE 214-2136 Exhaust 214-2137 Shawn
  9. There are some on ebay, but they have to be cross referenced. I'll take a look for you later in the day when I have a block of time. I've always went hydro to mech, never the other way around. I didn't realize about the oiling issues. Shawn
  10. I wanted to reply to this really quick. My set I gave away to a board member here. My recommendation is to just buy the rockers from a parts store of ebay. You can use all the rest of your existing hardware. PM me if you need help. I would post more info, but my time is limited this morning. Shawn
  11. Bobby, I started replying to your email last night. Sorry I didn't finish it. Honestly I wouldn't worry about it. Most shops here aren't going to check it. I have my guy we can go to. I will go with you when you are ready. There's also another shop close to me that will take care of it. Here we don't have to worry about a sniffer test, and most shops don't lift the car. I don't know what the difference between an OBDI and OBDII cat is. This is the first I heard about it. All the cat is doing, is super heating the inside of the cat to burn off emissions. You're car isn't offensive with the smell at idle. My m3 with a cat has a stronger smell than your car at idle (it's the tune). I honestly wouldn't worry about it. But if you want to put a cat on, I can weld it in place if you want. I spliced a cat on my Starion, because we had an emissions scare in Pennsylvania at the time. I ended up clamping it on so I could run a test pipe. Shawn
  12. E30! I have a Starion and love it, but also have a 328ic e36 and e46 M3 and love them too. From a quality standpoint, BMW all the way! Plus an E30 with a s52 in it is a nice little sleeper. Shawn
  13. I hope its something simple. I've actually put fuel in my bike that was so dirty it clogged the injectors and I couldn't start it. The pump was having problems. So it's possible that it happened to the fuel filter. I will say my non-oem pump was loud when it was under a great deal of pressure at idle. I had the FPR in backwards when I MPI'ed my car. Shawn
  14. From what you described it sounds like a fuel pump or a badly clogged fuel filter. Turn the key on and off sever times. When you turn it to the run position, leave it there until you hear the fuel pump stop priming. Then turn it off and repeat. The idea is to build pressure up. Then pull that same fuel line and see if it comes out. Have a rag handy to put around the area, it should be under a lot of pressure. I would suggest starting with a fuel filter before a fuel pump. 16. That's one of my favorite 2 wheel drift videos. Shawn
  17. I second the fusible links! HeroJr was having issues with his car shutting down after it warmed up and it was random. It ended up being a fusible link, even though it was new. The problem was the posts were dirty. It wouldn't hurt to take a look at the contacts and clean them all up. Shawn
  18. Try this link, Try here, www.google.com/shopping Ebay doesn't seem to have a lot either. You're right, there is almost nothing available. I haven't purchased these sizes for about 8 years. Also I would recommend 225/45/16 for the fronts if you can find them I have 225/50/16 on the front of my car and hate how they look. Shawn
  19. No, it doesn't, but it's a simple mod. I just hogged out the inside lining if the intake TB flange. This was to keep the 65mm plate from hitting the sides. I then made a plate out of 1/8" steel. The reason for this is that the intake opening for the TB is longer than the 65mm TB. Sonce I had the plate on the TB, I made the opening for the 65mm TB. After this it was as simple as using the factory top bolts on the intake to install the TB, and then drill 2 more on the bottom. Shawn
  20. Great info, thanks! I'm sure a lot of us will use this to save out 25 +/- year old trim! It's amazing how brittle it has become. Shawn
  21. I usually don't post here, but I thought I would throw this up. He made 904 AWHP, but what I think was interesting was his charge pipe. There's always a debate on how big to go. If you look at the charge pipe into the TB, to me it looks like it's under 3". I think it looks like 2.5", but I could be wrong. Regardless, those are impressive numbers out of a 2.0L engine. Shawn
  22. My theory it the runner length. With my 1" thick plate, plus the runners it has about a 15" long runner on it. Also a lower volume plenum. The air is running at higher velocity. I am running a single 65mm TB. I think you are noticing more low end torque. I didn't receive he dual TB with mine. I am actaully glad I didn't. I prefer the single plate instead. I did have to hog the inside out a little to accept the 65mm tb. Otherwise, there would have been interference with the TB plate. I will probable hog it out a little more in the future. I may go the route of making a bigger plenum. I forget the size of the MX6, but I think it's a bit small for high boosted applications. Shawn
  23. It's a Ford 65mm TB, I believe it was off a SHO. There was someone who did a MX6 intake swap before me, be he did it the way you are going to do it. He cut the flange and welded it on like you plan to do. Shawn
  24. Good write up! I've recovered a bunch of these lids with leather. Everyone but one was cracked and had a broken latch. I think I ended up pulling the latch from mine. Shawn
  25. Ha ha, love ERB too. There's a new one coming out in the next few days. Shawn
