Megasquirt?....Maft-t?

I have Delphi injectors.  Looking to add adjustable fuel regulator and a stand alone fuel controller.  Having trouble locating 1gen Maf-t.   Should I just go megasquirt?.   I have a wide band o2 sensor and guage.

Thanks!

Eric

Standalone is the way to go but much more expensive. A Maf Translator works great for the price point that it's in. I've had one for years without issues.

First things first, if you're running a stockish size turbo you don't need more fuel pressure, and Delphi's don't like pressure over 45PSI they start to act strangely, stock level is about 35-38PSI.

If you're running something bigger than a Super16-G at high-ish boost (15+PSI) the MAF-T can help change the fuel curve a bit to accommodate. Use the 1G DSM (Eclipse/Talon) box with a 3" or 3.5" GM Corvette MAF sensor.

If you're going big turbo, or going with an MPI intake then yeah you need to go standalone. Megasquirt is a popular SQ option, but there are more modern options now. But I must say, for the money you'll be into to make that happen, you can swap a different motor and have more power and more options. Just my .02.

I know this is going on 6 months dead, but what is more “ modern” than the newest mega squirt ms3 pro series?

I  bought the MS3 pro mini a few months ago for 650 nib from them direct. It does way more than I intend to use it for. It has numerous input/outputs, fully sealed against moisture and can be engine bay mounted, and literally does anything you’ll need/want to include full sequential fueling and ignition on a 4 cyl engine w/a built in 4 bar map sensor, w/built in SD card datalogging.

Hey if you're happy nothing else matters. When I said more modern I'm thinking of newer Haltechs or Link products. I've seen the MS stuff around the Starion world since the 90's when there were few options, but I never hear about ppl running it on a a Toyota, Nissan or LS motor. But I 1UZ swapped mine so that's where my head's at.

I did remote tuning for years through the msextra website, stopped when the Biden EPA started getting aggressive, the MS stuff is running everything including Toyota (especially the 12 cyl Japan only motor, I've done four) Nissan, many LS's, old Volkswagens, new Volkswagens, you name it and I've installed/tuned it.  Also having been a DIY distributor they did a great service to us all with the MS3, MS3 mini and AMP'ed microsquirt.  Motocam offers my design with an MS2 module on a motherboard with built in wide band O2, MAP and baro capable of fully sequential injection and ignition just for the Starquest with custom wire harness.  Any of these solutions is a good one these days.
