DieHARDmitsu.
l had bad vibration coming form the MPI car's drivetrain last week, turned out to be a busted tranny mount.Didn't want to replace it with another rubber one so I made this. Busted old stocker.http://i558.photobucket.com/albums/ss25/squaddy11/DSC01572.jpg old rubber removed, drilled and tapped (m10 X 1.25)http://i558.photobucket.com/albums/ss25/squaddy11/DSC01518.jpg M10 Stud, loctite and tighten, poly bushings secured with a nylon stainless nut and lock washerhttp://i558.photobucket.com/albums/ss25/squaddy11/DSC01564.jpg Shimming the bushing to make it sit flathttp://i558.photobucket.com/albums/ss25/squaddy11/DSC01577.jpg Slight modification to the cross member bracket, for clearance of lock nut/stud.http://i558.photobucket.com/albums/ss25/squaddy11/DSC01567.jpg Installedhttp://i558.photobucket.com/albums/ss25/squaddy11/DSC01569.jpg Tranny feels firm and planted on the car.The mount's bushings can be replaced if I ever need to Edited April 22, 2012 by DieHARDmitsu. Indiana
You shouldn't show that you can think and do things yourself, it will piss off others. You can get urethane and fill in the gap between the metal parts too on a still good or new anchor mount. If you don't "agree" with the angle on the one side after the BS that you see about anchor mounts not fitting when they do, use a hammer and someones sidewalk to change it. DieHARDmitsu.
Great idea! Are those just your average poly links from the local parts store?yes, I've just added a pic of the bushings with part numberSeems a bit lower than the original. Good idea though.Tech, adding another washer on both sides will make it taller if needed. As is it feels fine. driveshaft sits straight Also, the original mount was busted thats way it appears taller. Turbo Cary
I gotta ask a quick question. When tapping the top of the mount, where the trans bolts in. Did you go through the center or to one side?
