  1. ^ my parents never bought me a car either. I bought my starion when I was 16 y/o against my parents advisement. I didn't listen and probably would have been better off with something else, but I still have the car 22 years later.
  2. I'm not too familiar with the microsquirt, but for what reason would you still need the MSD6AL? I felt that going standalone was a great opportunity to remove my MSD box. The megamanual has instructions to use the 6al - http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/msd6a.htm
  3. Welcome and +1 to psu_crash's comments
  4. ahhh Shelby RIP. I remember being a little 16 yo kid asking him questions trying to get my first car running. he was such a good dude.
  5. I was working on the goal of having my car finished in 2012. I got it running'ish in 2021. So good job!
  6. Maybe too late, but you can make a "special tool" for the slide hammer to pull the torque tube and half axels using a 1.5" pipe floor flange and some bushings to get down to the thread of the slide hammer
  7. the coupler with the bands on it? If it's that, just buy a silicone coupler and some t-bolt clamps
  8. work from home. I usually have 10,000 windows open

    2 rear shp

Still looking for 2 rear shp wheels
  10. i'd loan it to you, but lehigh is a hike from the jersey shore. maybe if there's good snow up in the poconos i'll be up there this winter
  11. An inductive heater and bearing removal wire worked wonders for me. i used that and a mid torque impact and a air hammer. everything came out without an issue (while the subframe was still bolted to the car). Wrap the bearing wire around the knuckle mounts and heat it up for a good 60 seconds, impact it in both directions, heat it up another 60 seconds, impact in both directions. Then put the nut on the LCA bolt and air hammer for a few seconds. Once the nut touches the knuckle, remove nut and use a 3/8 socket extension and air hammer it out the rest of the way
  12. Oh wow, they usually just cancel my orders
  13. I actually couldn't get any. A local dodge dealer had some of them in stock (not the reds). But made my own from some random finds at mom and pop parts stores.
  14. I refreshed mine without dropping the subframe. Probably more work, but i couldn't get to the subframe mounts while on the quickjack lift I plan to hit the subframe mounts sometime later on.
  15. So for this job, I would recommend buying an inductor and the 96" length of flexible wire called "bearing buddy" and also buying a long throw air hammer.
  16. Got them out. Needed to get it up to 330, then hit with impact, then air hammer. Rinse and repeat. Came right out
  17. I got my new inductor and a flexible piece of wire for it and wrapped around the LCA where the bolt is. Couldn't get much over 330 degrees f. Not enough heat to may any difference it seems. Might be cutting them bolts out.
  18. Just buy a set, you'll need it for the brakes at some point
  19. you may not need to remove the hood! I'm just exceptionally tall
  20. I have changed that hose without pulling the motor. Essentially, unbolt the the hose from the gearbox. Unbolt the hose from the power steering pump. Then remove bolted in hose clips along the back of the firewall. To install hose, follow the same procedure. I removed the hood so i didn't keep hitting my head when i was reaching back there. Make sure to use very good line wrenches. I use SK wrenches now based on recommendations but have heard that Snap-On are better. In the past I've used craftsman, harborfreight, Miller (the chinese made ones, not the old ones made in USA) and husky line wrenches... they all rounded off line nuts
  21. I tried once to make a good one of those rear pieces out of two. If you have one that's in good shape missing the clips, I glued neodymium magnets onto mine to hold it in place
  22. how you making out on the scoop/vents? and do you have a price for them? Same for price for the headlight covers Depending on how much they are, I may currently have some spare money to get rid of
  23. First inductive heater arrived non-working. Will update when a new one comes and if it works. Might help other people if it does work.
