tux
Bosch 044 is a great pump. It's really big so you may have to modify mounting brackets a bit.

scott87star
Chinese knock off Wallys are everywhere, get the Bosch and be done with it.
mr-starion
Been runnin the bosch for 4 years, no problems other than it not liking lest than a 1/4 tank of fuel. Starts to whine a bit. Never lost pressure with it tho! I keep a walboro in the trunk with all the nescessary fittings to change it on the fly if anything went wrong. but ive read that its normal that the bosch whines when the tank is runnin low. Guest
Going on 10 years with a Walbro, not a peep. Could be you had a knock off. Go with Bosch, less likely to be Chinese.
psu_Crash
Been running my Walbro 255 for close to 10 years myself. Lately it has been loud after long runs but never loses pressure. Bosch or Aeromotive will be my replacement when/if needed.

polarisman14
I was looking into a pump from the racer's edge, they have a 255 pump that has a one year warranty and is essentially the same as the 255. http://www.ebay.com/itm/255LPH-External-Inline-Universal-High-Pressure-Flow-HP-In-Line-Fuel-Pump-TRE-200-/281229356096?hash=item417a936c40&vxp=mtr I will probably just go with the walbro though--I don't need the install kit so I can get it with the fittings separately for about 85 bucks: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Walbro-GSL392-Universal-Inline-Fuel-Pump-/131408669917?hash=item1e98912cdd&vxp=mtr
speedyquest
That walbro you linked to is definitely a knock off polarisman14. If you find a Walbro 255 for less than $110.00 you may as well assume its a fake. They are everywhere and you should only buy them from a known distributor of Walbro pumps. Anything else is asking for trouble.

BuGG
I purchase from here http://www.autoperformanceengineering.com/html/ext_pump.html in the past and they were genuine walbro. They even offered a 15% discount using "starquest" in promotion code.
Shelby
OP asked what was the best fuel pump , price has little to do with quality , except you can not buy a top quality fuel pump for $100 , top of the line Bosh goes for $300 to $800Bosh has been building fuel pumps from the beginning longer then any one else , and are the largest supplier of OEM pumps in the world as for the whining outside of the tank Bosh pumps normally use push pumps inside tank this stops any whining ( slight cavitation) , caused by vacuum building up as tank empties , most times removing cap andreplacing will stop it Edited July 31, 2015 by Shelby

kev
Is a Bosch really better than an aero motive? I kind of have a differing opinion in that an A 1000 is the way to go, as mentioned by someone earlier. They may not have been around as long as Bosch but they are specialized in the industry. I think their products are more innovative on all accounts. For the same cost, I'd go aero motive. For a third the cost, then Bosch Kev
ucw458
The best pump is one sized to match what you are running. An 044 is a bit overkill and will push the limits of a small FPR. It pumps 3x the volume a TBI setup needs. That can create issues. For most stockish TBI cars I would run a stock replacement or stock upgrade. MPI cars or standalone equipped TBI cars a 255 or 044 would be fine. The 044 is a big pump though. You need better clamps on the stock inlet hose or the pump will suck air. I run the smallest aeromotive regulator and it barely flows enough to set base idle pressure with my 044 pump. You can get real 255s and 044s for around $100 if you know what to look for. Racers edge and tre performance sell china pumps. I bought my real 044 off ebay for $100.
Shelby
Jeff is right lots of pumps will do the job for you, proper size and flow are important parts of a set up,, as with any thing you can get good and back parts no matter the price you pay for them I've had 3 walbro whine from the getgo , 3 others ran fine , I've never had a masters fail me nor a Bosh 044,exception the master E2315 has been the nosiest and most vibrating pump I have ever found

This one is genuine with the install kit: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-WALBRO-255LPH-UNIVERSAL-INLINE-EXTERNAL-HIGH-PRESSURE-FUEL-PUMP-W-KIT-GSL392-/171490819994?hash=item27eda63f9a&vxp=mtr Looks like I'll either have to break some kneecaps if mine is a knock off or send it back and order this one instead. polarisman14
Update on mine,I got the $75.00 one in the mail and it appears to be a genuine walbro piece. It has walbro and all the correct nomenclature etched into the case identical to the other eBay offerings and comes in a box with a walbro logo on it. Have no way of really knowing until I see how long it lasts but I'm happy with what I see so far and have decided to keep it.
G54Bstore
Thanks for the updateLet me know how it's working once it's hooked up and running.I'm just letting her sit for now till I find a deal. The masters Pump might be my purchase for now ..not sure yet.We might have a winner here with the walbro though .
