Burton
My old 89 was pretty much rotting apart so I needed to find a rust free car to put all my mechanical goodies into.... http://www.starquestclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=50419 Ulrichwolf got me a good deal on this car that I picked up out of TX... http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10087/texas_12-26-06_037.jpghttp://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10087/texas_12-26-06_036.jpghttp://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10087/texas_12-26-06_038.jpg I took it and my old 89 down to Jimmy's and have everything swapped into it. http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10087/pick_up_036.jpghttp://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10087/pick_up_035.jpghttp://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10087/pick_up_034.jpghttp://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10087/pick_up_033.jpghttp://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10087/pick_up_032.jpghttp://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10087/pick_up_031.jpghttp://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10087/pick_up_030.jpghttp://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10087/pick_up_029.jpghttp://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10087/pick_up_028.jpghttp://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10087/pick_up_027.jpghttp://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10087/pick_up_026.jpghttp://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10087/pick_up_025.jpghttp://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10087/pick_up_024.jpg It's got a long way to go, but I already started by adding a grille, hood and header panel I modded up.... http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10087/front_stuff_009.jpghttp://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10087/front_stuff_008.jpghttp://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10087/front_stuff_006.jpghttp://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10087/front_stuff_004.jpg Got the roofe wetsanded and buffed out, also removed the pinstripes and rubber door trim pieces and should have it all waxed up later tonight. emagdnim
I'm on the fence with it, I think you should change the mesh to a finer style and paint it black also.

Burton
I'm on the fence with it, I think you should change the mesh to a finer style and paint it black also. Well, I'm not sure about the finer mesh, but I do plan to paint it black eventualy. I should mention... Right now I'm trying to get it as nice as I can for as little as possible. We're getting ready to move, so I'm just looking to get it bearable to be seen in for now  . Eventually it will be Dodge GoManGo orange/copper, but I have neither the time or money to do the repaint right now so it will have to wait til I get a shop set up after the move. The paint turned out to be in pretty decent shape after a couple of days of detailing, so other than fixing the cowl which I did tonight, and painting the rear bumper, I'm gonna live with it. The body has some flaws- the rear 1/4 was painted and there's a tape line where the pinstripe used to be, and a big chip of paint missing above the doorhandle that I just touched up... http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10087/cowlfix_004.jpg But I did get the super dull roof shiny again... http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10087/pick_up_037~0.jpghttp://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10087/cowlfix_005.jpg I got the faded front seats out and put in my nice black/cloth 84 style seats, and got the interior all cleaned up. Tomorrow it'll be time to clean and paint stuff under the hood, so hopefully I'll have pics up of that later. Still have to get the tires for the mesh wheels, do the brakes, swap in the SHP struts I got back in the shed, tint the windows, tint the taillights, and put a little stereo in. Just enough to make it decent till I can really go through the body and audio stuff. Gotta thank a ton of people who helped with this thing. Jimmy, Wayne and the rest of the GA crew for getting it together. Tim for finding the car to begin with. Ernie for helping get it together and giving me a ride down to go pick it up. Couth, Josh, David and Matt for helping me get it home in my time of need. Also everyone else who helped or supplied moral support on this whole deal. And especially Kate for putting up with me putting in the time to go get it and make it the way I like it. More to come, and thanks for all the compliments. chuck641
It looks great, I can't wait for you to get those mesh rims on it so I can see what they look like black, I have been contemplating painting mine black for a while now. I never have liked the gold, I also need to get rid of my gold pinstripe.
Burton
here's the cowl I fixed. It was a poor body job from when the PO's hood flew up- was about the only rust on the car. Pretty much the same on both sides. http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10087/cowlfix_002.jpghttp://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10087/cowlfix_006.jpghttp://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10087/cowlfix_009.jpghttp://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10087/cowlfix_011.jpghttp://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10087/cowlfix_019.jpg And you can kinda see the finished product in this pic, which is also the "before" pic of the engine... http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10087/engineclean_001.jpg And of course, the "after" http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10087/engineclean_008.jpg The 84 front seats to replace the 88/89 style that were a lovely shade of blue... http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10087/engineclean_010.jpg Gonna work on Kate's car some tomorrow but hopefully I'll have time to do the tinting. Thanks for looking.
Burton
Got it tinted and cleaned up some more. Alternator is fixed as is the stuttering. Here's how it looks now and will for a few more weeks anyway. I'm gonna be taking a little break from the cars and the site as I have to get some interviewing done in TX and find a job. Also have to get all packed and moved. I'm sure I'll have some more pics up before the move, but it's pretty much gonna stay like this for a while... http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10087/tint_003.jpg http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10087/tint_002.jpg http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10087/tint_001.jpg

Fanta
that's pretty sharp - although IMO whenever you get a chance, try to match the black on the rims to the paint on the car ( it would just look even better than what it already looks like IMO ) you should nickname the car stealth fighter or something
