  1. Yeah, The AC was working fine last time I drove it (almost a year ago). The car is basically all stock and original, except for a 1G MAS and a GM 110? amp alternator, I also converted it to a 5 speed a few years ago, but I still have all of the stock stuff. I know the last 2 owners of the car who had it since new, and it has always been in Georgia so the body and frame are rust free.
  2. danmanTSI, Yes, the wheels are the optional Enkei's. bha280, Buy it!, I'm going down to Destin to go fishing the first week of October, I'll bring it with me.
  3. 1988 Mitsubishi Starion. Turbo charged/intercooled 2.6L 4 cylinder (G54B), rear wheel drive, 5 speed. Power windows/locks, sunroof, black leather interior. Has the rare "wing" over the rear window and the rare factory mudflaps (not in the picture). Overall good condition, has the usual wear on the side of the drivers seat, and it needs a new seat belt "tape" to make the automatic seatbelt work. Has a bent valve on the #3 cylinder so I have the head pulled right now. Ran perfect and strong until the valve bent, even then it ran, just really rough. It needs is a new head and a gasket set to be back on the road, everything else works. Also have a ton of extra parts that will go with it including a working automatic trans, driveshaft, set of front struts, and many other parts. $1500 or best offer. Car is located in Villa Rica, GA. Can deliver or buyer can arrange pickup or shipping.
  4. Geico are a bunch of a** holes. I had them and still haven't got paid for the hail damage I got back in March. I have since cancelled their insurance and went with someone else but am still fighting with them. A friend's mom works in insurance and says she gets complaints about geico nearly every day. Just wait it out, like UW said they will eventually need to settle with you. A good friend of mine owns a body shop out here in Villa Rica if you want to get an estimate from him. If insurance will total it, you can probably buy it back for about 300 bucks.
  5. If you have a buddy with a ford truck ask to borrow his keys ... there is a good chance they will work. My key from my F-250 worked in my brothers F-250, but his didn't work in mine.
  6. It's not a bad job, It only takes like an hour or so. The biggest pain is all the interior crap. Also, there are a ton of screws in the track (I removed the whole upper part of the track and the motor to pull the tape out), but it looks like Mike C. has a better way by just pulling the tape out of the track. You want to try to get all the shavings from the old belt out of the track though so it doesn't cause binding with the new tape. After I cleaned out the track I sprayed white lithium grease in there and ran the tape through it to spread it around. Just go easy with removing the interior parts, if you do it in the right order it is pretty easy.
  7. yes, they are interchangable. There is a taper on the end, just pay attention when you pull the old one out which way the taper goes and put your new one in the same way. If you come across another good one I need one.
  8. The motor shouldn't have anything wrong with it. once you pull the drivers side tape you will see all the damage to the tape. Did you pull the passenger side tape from your car to use in the drivers side? If so how do you plan on using the passenger side seatbelt?
  9. WOW ... I have had a few of those in the past but they were never that Blunt. I hope no one falls for that.
  10. Once you fix it and it is clipped in ther how it should be, if it does not release enough you can adjust the threaded rod that is under the dash hooked to your clutch pedal. unscrew it to get more release or screw it in to get less release. once you have it adjusted right make sure you tighted down the lock nut on the rod, if you don't it will gradually screw itself in and your clutch will not release.
  11. I don't know yet. I haven't touched it since I took those pictures. One of these days I'll get around to pulling it apart and I'll update the post.
  12. It didn't fall all the way into the engine. I can see the top of the valve (you can actually see it a little bit in that second picture). Hopefully it fell part way and stopped where it is now. More than likely it fell, and the piston jammed it back up in the hole. who knows, I'll find out when I feel like pulling it apart. Hopefully I got lucky. I didn't hear anything ticking or knocking. I actually started it again today and drove it off the trailer, and besides the miss from no compression in that cylinder it wasn't making any noises or anything.
  13. This is what I found.... Can you tell something is missing? http://2.6liter.com//files/95/missing%20valve.JPG And the spring comes right off, no tools required! http://2.6liter.com//files/95/missing%20valve%202.JPG
  14. Thanks for all the responses, I am going to try to look at it tonight.
  15. I thought it may be the headgasket, I didn't want to tear it down before I checked out everything else though. had just come out onto a 4 lane road so I got on it a little to meet the flow of traffic, but when it started running weird I was doing probably 55 or 60 with no boost. As far as the plug wires go I didn't ohm them yet (I couldn't find my multimeter last night), but I did switch them out with an old set and still have the same problem. It's odd though how it wouldn't start (and I could smell gas a lot when i was cranking it like it was getting flooded) but after it would sit for a few minutes it would almost start, then after a couple hours it started right up, ran like crap, but started right up.
  16. Last night I was on my way to play some trivia when my car started running bad. It actually started sounding like a subaru (like its running on 3 cylinders or something). so I pull over to check if any plug wires came loose or anything. I couldn't see anything so I shut it down to take a closer look. checked out everything and tried to start it back up and it wouldn't start. So I do the only logical thing ... leave my car there in the parking lot where I pulled over and have my friend come pick me up so I don't miss trivia and the budweisers I was looking forward to. I come back after trivia with a spare set of plugs, wires, dist. cap, etc... and my car trailer I pulled all the plugs, they all look great, basically there isn't anything visibly wrong. it ended up starting back up, but it ran like crap. I had to keep it running, I managed to do it long enough to get it on the trailer and drag it home. I haven't had a chance to look at it yet but I just wanted some opinions on what it might be. when I was trying to start it, it seemed like it didnt have compression in a cylinder. every rotation it seemed like it hit an 'easy' spot like there was no compression. There is no water in the oil, oil in the water, gas in the oil, etc... it isn't blowing any smoke. The car is an '88 starion and has almost 200,000 miles on it, it is damn near stock. Recently I have been driving it 60-70 miles a day with no problems.
  17. Sounds like my house, I have 7 vehicles sitting here at the moment ... my girlfriend is thrilled. The other day when I got #7 I just told her I had to go to my buddies shop and asked her if she wanted to go with me. She got suspicious when I hooked up the car trailer and she said "are you going to pick up another piece of s*** car?" I said 'maybe'. Luckily they all run and drive so I can move them around and mow around them and such so it doesn't look like a junkyard. I also told her that if she helps me get my shop done I'll close off part of the garage on the house to make her a walk in closet off the Master. She was happy with that
  18. Good luck with that ... it's a Dodge J/K ... Nice truck
  19. Great song! My mom and step-dad have owned BBQ restaurants for the last 10 or 15 years. I just-e-mailed that to them.
  20. I just sent an e-mail to a guy that knows him. I'll let you know when I hear something back.
  21. I want a LED type sign in my back window (like what you see on the front of busses to tell the destination). That way when someone is driving like a retard or does something stupid I can type in what I want to tell them and they will see it as I go by.
  22. I saw that about a week ago but I don't think I got the link from this site. Anyway, that dude is CRAZY.
  23. I will try to make it on the 30th or 31st, I have to be in Seattle, Washington until the 29th. My mom lives in Beaufort, SC and has been begging us to come down and visit so maybe I can visit her and make the meet in the same weekend.
  24. My old fiji Conquest was getting to that point, I couldn't even put a jack under it anywhere without crushing the frame rail or putting a hole through something. Somehow it was holding together and looked decent from a few feet away but every part of that car had rot. Thats what winters in upstate NY do to a car.
