Maxzillian
Long story short, a GM representative tweeted that if they got 100,000 comments to bring back the El Camino, they'd do it. Sure, it's a slim chance in heck, but I'd love to see just what they do if that many comments are raised. Whether you like the El Camino or not, comment on the Jalopnik post! http://jalopnik.com/5798792/gm-will-bring-back-the-el-camino-if-100000-people-comment-on-this-post

Fuze
I always wanted to cut the hatch off a Starion and make it into a pickup. Just throw the bike in the back. I've seen a few 240's like that, they are sick.

Convette
I work for gm design. The "el camino" is still alive as a Holden, but only avalible in australia. Bob Lutz was pushing to bring the car here, but he's no longer around. I haven't heard anything about it in years. All they would have to do is put in a shipping order to the Aussies. Turborusty
$5 says they have one in the works and this is just viral marketing What do you mean by "in teh works"? you mean like on a boat? Seriously, they build thousands of them already, they just don't let us "funny talkers" have them. Dodge built Ramchargers off of the late-90's gen Ram, and some Mexicans would even drive them across the border here and back. So I've seen them on U.S soil.....but we can't have those either. redzone
Remember the pontiac G8? the VE Commodore Ute (which the HSV Maloo is a development of) is the same platform as the G8 aka Holden Commodore.. Which is also basically the same platform as the 2011 Camaro (which Holden did the chassis on)... So yeah i can see them marketing the VE SS ute in america as a Chev Elcamino, i dont know why they havnt done it yet...
jd_stazza_brendan
You guys would rather the Ford FPV F6 ute. Or the FPV GS Ute. Turbo straight 6 or supercharged V8 Edited May 6, 2011 by jd_stazza_brendan
Turborusty
You guys would rather the Ford FPV F6 ute. Or the FPV GS Ute. Turbo straight 6 or supercharged V8 One common problem there. They both start with Ford Whew! and uglier than the ugliest F-150 we could think up! That 6 different kinds of terrible, right there! http://carsguide.com.au/images/uploads/FPV-FG-F6-Falcon-Ute-4W.jpg Turborusty Edited May 7, 2011 by Turborusty

4WStarion
That is ugly, but not uglier than an American truck which look like a 5 year old with a straight edge designed it. The Aussie utes are strange beasts, utes that can carry nothing, single spinner diffs mean they get stuck at the look of wet grass, can't get a boat out of the water basically they can do nothing but drink fuel and carry 1 passenger. At least the American ones can actually work, just a pity they are to big to get/go/park anywhere.

This has been my favorite American "ute" that I've owned.......not a year old and straight edge in sight, big 5.9L engine, full time AWD, and room for the family. It would tow and haul a lot of stuff! But it was not a sports car. It was also very manageable to drive, park, fit in the garage, etc. I sure miss it! http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10070/100_0321.JPG http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10070/100_2830.JPG http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10070/100_2871.JPG http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10070/100_2873.JPG Turborusty Edited May 7, 2011 by Turborusty
