averse
Can spark plug wires really create more horsepower? (E.G. Nology) Anyone have opinions or input or can cite documented research findings? Thanks!
Killtodie
oh god, another spark plug discussion. For these cars, just use the ones people here recommend. those NKG. Now, for some regular cars, those pulsar plugs will make a difference.

JohnnyWadd
ngk are excellent but msd wires are better especialy if you have a upgraded coil or spark box lie a msd6a they can handle the power better and have less resistance.

Shelby
absolutely the more plug wires you have the more HP per lb of boost , 4 per cyl or plug seem to be the limit tho unless your useing the chrome'd one's http://www.starquestclub.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/wub.gif
dem0ntsi
I cant remember if it was Sport Compact or Super Street that did test the Nology Hotwires but they did a dyno run with the Nologys and saw a decent increase, I cant remember how much but it was at least 3hp across the rev range. I guess if you had alot of mods then it would be more.
Indiana
If they start out with crap wires the only way you can go is up.

Could do without the attitude either way Colin, funny stuff! Before posting, I found THIS WEBSITE about wires, yet some of it was over my head and I couldnt find anything giving an estimate of how much bang (heh) for my buck I would get, considering the Nology wires are over 100 shells. LOL.http://www.starquestclub.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif Seriously though, I had a set of big fat Magnecor wires in my old slightly modified flatty 86.I (stupidly) damaged one of the wires and put my old blue NGK wires back on and noticed no difference whatsoever.I'm running the NGK wires and a MSD Blaster coil in my more heavily modified 86 widebody and like you wonder if it would be worth going for those fat wires again.Colinhttp://www.starquestclub.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif Edited August 16, 2010 by colingibb
cyberquest
these are the wires i run. http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b343/vcyberbob/barn/55011.jpg one main thing i knoticed was a change in exhaust tone. larger wires can carry more current to the plug, if the plugs getting the juice it can burn fuel more effcient. or i could be talking out my butt

craig87
taylors suck with a cdi ignition I have run two sets on two differnet cars and at night its a light show of leaking voltage. On to the question If you have less resistance in the wire there is more availible kv to the plug. Now if you have a cd igniton msd ect that may make a difference but with stock or just upgraded coil the diffence will be negligable. I would suggest the magnacore for a good pefromance wire but if you dont have a cd box get ngk or a set of beldens from napa. I can see the dyno showing 3hp going from 100k stock wires to anything good is beter then bad.

Caliber308
I'm running a set of Magnecor 8.5mm plug wires coupled with a Mallory Promaster 29625 coil and a Summit Multi-Spark Digital CD Ignition box.Haven't had a miss yet, and the performance on acceleration is outstanding.
