Non pop-up headlight conversion - coming soon

Nice model, except it doesn't take account for space or mounting of the lights. Depending on the lights used, one might have to cut some sheet metal off the radiator support to get them to fit. At least thats one of my problems in designing my own flush headlights.

I'm having that issue also, but it's only because the type of light i'm using for the low beams..

The 90mm Hella high beam modules fit just fine in there with plenty of room left over..

The max diameter of my setup is actually 110mm due to the CCFL angel eyes.

did you ever consider staying with the pop up housing? dual HID projectors, 1 low beam, 1 high beam per side, popping up "lazy eyed"? i've seen it on a second gen miata, looked way better than the square lights. just a thought, yours look pretty sweet tho.

I'd like a set if you get them into production....

I'm thinking about taking a set of starion light assy's & modeling them in Pro/Engineer so that I can see what the true envelope is. I'd be interested in seeing what the required depth for hid lights are & any data that you might have..

wouldnt it be easier if you guys cut down into the vent that goes across between the bumper and that header panel. There is no venting going on there anyways and i think it would look somewhat stock. That would give you the extra depth needed to not stick above the hood. Just an idea. Me I like pop ups. as long as they work anyways

Those headlights would look cool if done right. But those tail lights are BADA$$

Those tailights are tough!! I'd put a set in!

I am working on a fixed headlight conversion. This kit will be using dual Hella Optilux 2500 4" round lights with angel-eye halos.

the housing is fiberglass and the cover is plexiglass.

Why don't you use a single bi-xenon projector?

U can pick a pair for ~$150 and balast and ignitors for another $150.

I'm working on a set for my car, should be done by this summer(I hope :D )

Here is teser pics:

I don`t know exactly where to start but I think that 2 lamps on each side would look good. Either pop up or fixed. I know it would have to be 2 small lamps though. If going fixed then having the top of the lamp solid. Kind of the look of the storm or grand prix. Something like that. Maybe make the top of the lamp part of the hood. I dunno just a thought.
