What hit? š¤·āāļø Looks good from here!

Welcome and congratulations on your find! Head gasket failure and cracked head are common unfortunately. Upgrade the cooling system with an alum radiator and eliminate the jet valves. You need to drop the gas tank if it wasn't drained when it was stored. If so, replace the fuel pump with a walboro pump. That's just for starters!!! More pictures please!

Blown Head Gasket Engine Rebuild...What did ChatGPT Say?
LizardKing replied to nc_beagle's topic in Just plain ol' B.S.
Was this just for s**** and giggles or are you really looking into a full rebuild over a blown head gasket? X2 what @techboy suggested. To add to cylinder head inspection, look for any hairline cracks in between valves and sparkplug holes. -
I have one of those cassettes! Came with the original owners manual and cover for my 87 Starion. Not for sale though. I do remember hearing the audio online somewhere. Edit: Found it.

Sometimes it's the simplest things that get you. Perseverance will pay off.

Man, I almost had a panic attack just reading... but then it worked out for you...

Man, just reading your post gives me anxiety!! You're a brave man taking on such a project by yourself.... Brave or crazy as our significant other might say... But as long as it doesn't pass your elbows!! Lol. Onward

5.0 engine swap - Cooling issues
LizardKing replied to conquestcobra's topic in Engine and Performance Mods
I don't know which radiator v8 swappers use but alum radiator helps with the cooling. I know 20 yrs ago Griffin made the only alum radiator that bolted up like stock. Someone with v8 swap experience will chime in. Any pictures of your v8 engine bay? -
If the positive cable was touching the chassis then more than likely somethings fried. Links, fuses, switches, relays, computer and wires. I know you tested some of these already but deserve a second look. On my 87 the alarm would turn off/on by turning the key to lock/open the door and holding the key turned till the alarm engages/disengages.

How to cast a snake would be a more popular thing to cast. People use some type of dough or silicone to make a mold and then pour the material of your choice for the part. Lots of videos on the tube on how to cast at home.

What value???? Lol Any changes from stock can hurt the value. These cars came with some cool cloth interior too but the majority seen are leather. Stock Tan and black interior is my favorite .
-
You can always cast/print your own. You would have to do research but it can be done. Don't throw any of your old parts.

@kev That stance looks nice! I remember 20+ years ago, the SHP adjustable struts with the stiffer springs that needed the struts to be cut to use MR2 inserts is all there was for suspension.. Tokicos where hard to find to replace the stock ones too. I still have a f/r set of shp adjustable struts I picked up many years ago at a junkyard. No springs though.

Well said sir... I've done business with him in the past and wouldn't hesitate to do so again. I'm glad he's still providing for the Starquest community. Thank you Randy aka Dad.

Secondary Air Cleaner and EGR Delete
LizardKing replied to adamboggs86's topic in Newbie Question and Answers
Now that's a gold nugget of information right there!!!!! -
Your best bet would be taking it apart for inspection. You can make anything nowadays!! Maybe all it needs is some lubricating grease..

I had an 86 that chewed and spat a bearing and oil out the side cover. I was able to make it home and ended up doing a balance shafts delete. Sold the car before I drove it so can't add anything about vibration. Like others have said, if it's smooth then why bother.

@TSITy is correct. I remember using a cheap Harbor freight one. You just have to pay attention to the movement of the needle for a clean sweep. No eradict jumps or stalls as you move the tps by hand. Its been more than 20 yrs since I last did this!

Welcome to the Starquestclub show! Yes, the 86 and older had the 2 black 850cc injectors. They are badged under Dodge, Chrysler, Plymouth as a Conquest and a Starion under Mitsubishi. Piece of plexiglass to replace the cluster cover. Check the tps with a multimeter for dead spots. There must be a "how to" on this test somewhere here...Check for any vacuum leaks.

šI had to put on my stunna shades . Clean job sir!

New to the platform and to cars in general :/

Welcome to the Starquestclub show!!! You need to have money to burn If you don't wrench on it yourself. Just get it running and enjoy as is!! It's easy to fall in love but it will break your heart if maintenance isn't meticulously keeped up. Even owning one isn't for the faint of heart! -
I have no idea how to resize and it doesn't give me that option on my phone's picture settings. I've never had to resize to send or post pictures.

The 500 kb max size doesn't let me add any of my pictures. I belong to other online clubs and have no problem posting any picture straight from my phone.
