Overfenders, anyone?

Okay, okay, before you start beating me down about having an already wide bodied car, and that the Stance movement is stupid and most of you prefer function over looks, it still is possible to be stanced and perfectly functional. With that outta the way, have any of you ever seen a Starquest with overfenders installed? I like to separate from the crowd and definitely am interested in trying it out, just for a change. Sorry if that sounds insane to any of you.

Insanespeed in Vegas is building one, maybe someone will post up a pic.

Being somewhat involved in the Insanespeed Starion build it took a very experienced fabricator many, many hours to achieve the desired widebody "factory" look and the added expense of the mega wide wheel and tire combo to fill the now 4" extended flares , the project is slowly coming along , plans changed due to a certain 10 inch tire drag regulation not allowing body modifications so the car is now being built as a street/show car with full interior , the car is truly "Insane" ! . SOTTY on the left and a mega hungover John/Convette on the right .

Easy easy... haha

To the OP, I got what you need. Will be milled soon. Already did the fronts years ago out of metal.

Yooo Convette! That's awesome work right there! Are you familiar with the Rocket Bunny/Liberty Walk kits? How about incorporating a bit of that style into this design? Like cutting the rear fenders short to expose the wideness of the tire like so...

And maybe even finding a way to make the car lines' smoother, not as boxy, or like scott87star said "Like a hamster with its mouth stuffed with seeds".

I'm just throwing the idea out there to see if it's possible. I have no sort of experience whatsoever in the fabricating world, especially not of car parts, so if it's not doable, perfectly fine.

Awesome job one way or another.

Ohh and one more thing, how were you able to upload that template of a StarQuest onto Photoshop(the program you made that sample with IS Photoshop, right?)???

I'd like to start fiddling around with some ideas for Diamond as well :D

Something like this is what I have in mind... Riveted fenders have always been a turn on for me.

Mazarin was playing around with doing that on a flatty a few years ago. I don't think he followed up on it.

i think round bolt on flairs over our square fenders will look stupid. just my 2 cents.

convettes look good, square bolt on helps exaggerate the starions lines, rather than competing with it.

Yeah I can se whee you're coming from. It would be trying to mix two worlds that just aren't made to be mixed. But I don't know, maybe I'm the only one that isn't a big fan of boxing our cars even more. I mean they look mean stock but in order to achieve a Liberty Walk kinda look would take some real brain and hard thinking, plus the obvious fabricating costs and whatnot :/

I'm very familiar with the style, but dont agree with all of it. From a design stand point, on a car like the quest you cant put a flare on a flare and expect it to look good. For example, the wide body kit on evos...looks terrible, cause it already has a flare. The LBW kits work well on cars that are more flowing, and the half fenders on the front side of the wheel arch do nothing for aero, the rear parts of the arch sure, like I've done with the front fender.
