Bought another SQ this weekend

Bought an '87 Valencia Gold Conquest on Saturday; 5spd, black leather, no sunroof. Brand new motor with receipts, intermittent spark problem. ;)

No pictures yet, but its a little rough, needs paint, doesn't run, and I paid too much. But it's gold.

Drove my black car to go look at it, dude was kinda taken back; "Is that what they're supposed to look like?"

Plan is to restore and daily it for fuel mileage and enjoyment.

Yessir, craigslist find. I wasn't in the market for another car at all, and this one was about 70 miles away. I'm just always on c-list and eBay looking at stuff and dreaming and always wanted a gold one.

I'll get some pics when I pick the car up Dave. I'm waiting for the title to get in to the current owner.

Here's a few pics I pulled off the craigslist add:

The body is straight with very minimal rust, its just the paint is shot.

Nice. Looks pretty good.

I think Palermo Grey is my favorite "gold" color, but I'd rather have one of these just for the rarity.

Jusdging by where your black car started and how it looks now, I have no doubt that this car will end up being another beauty.

Dale, it is a great pick up.

What I want to see, all in one picture, is ALL the golds together. I have a picture of my car with Mike Meyerhoff's Mezzon Gold car.....it's funny what happened, too.

The golds seem to really stand out, and when a Palermo Gray car, which we sort of consider gold, actually turns sort of gray.

I find it interesting the way Mitsubishi, I suppose, settled on final hues for the cars.

I appreciate that. There is one for sale now in oregon for 10k all original and only 50k on it. just way out of my price range right now.

It's very decent for a lifetime Northeast car, minor rust on the body, nearly zero on the chassis. But I think if it were any color other than gold, I wouldn't have even considered looking at it.

Congrats!

I contacted that guy when he first posted the car on CL but he said he was firm on the price and at the time it was a little high. I think he dropped the price a couple of times after I talked to him. By that time I had already committed to this '89 Starion.

If I had not bought the car I did Monday I would have checked to see if his price had changed favorably.

At least it went to someone on here.
