Going to the in-laws for Christmas get together tonight. We are having sandwiches, chips, etc. May not sound like much, but we have a great Thanksgiving meal there and this makes it easy on the hosts. It is all about the comraderie and relaxing.

 

We'll have a big dinner at my mom's tomorrow but didn't do anything for Thanksgiving there.

2nd annual Turducken for xmas. I can't wait. Those things are crazy good, juicy, and cajun spiced wonderfullness.

 

no kidding - i had one at the local bbq festival ( you had to ask it wasn't on the menu )

 

... though am I the only one here that does a holiday ham instead?

For thanksgiving my father always salt brines for 2 days and then deep fries in peanut oil, but because of the cold temps and snow during christmas, he salt brines it and smokes it. This year he is using cherry wood for smoking.
