So today I went out to buy a car.

I went and test drove a 1991 VR-4 [3000GT] and it was cool. Ran well, everything worked inside, and it had a nice shiny gloss paint to it.

So I pay the guy, sign all the paperwork and drive it off to the freeway going back home. The oil ran out. What the heck? How's that?

Car started clickin', had to pull over to the first exit I could see and get it into a parking lot of a gas station. I poured 4 quarts of oil into it and still sounded like crap.

Scotty [scottydont] met up with me at the gas station and helped out a lot. We got a tow-truck in and we towed the car back to my house.

Now it sits until I find out exactly what's wrong with it, and then I'll have to probably dish out a lot of money to get it fixed. End of story.

Moral of the story: Starion > The World.

Lol, this would be all nice if the car wasn't pretty much worthless. I spent my money on buying it.. now I gotta spend even more money trying to fix it.

Well, a friend of mine who works a lot on engine basically told me by listening to it.. this is depressing cause I didn't even drive the car for like 15 minutes before it died. Such a sad fate.

Well, he'll be doing a visual inspection of it, who knows? Perhaps I need to stop worrying and just buy a new engine. I mean c'mon now, money grows on trees! Lol.

I'd look into your local lemon laws. Sounds like the guy that sold it to you knew it had problems. I'd try to take it up with him first.

Oh man, that sucks to hear. Granted I've sorta been in that position before - bought a car that was fine, 2 days later the CEL light came on and found out it needed almost $2,000 worth of parts. I was livid.

In any regard, best of luck with that car. It's clean.

Good news. He didn't have the car smogged before selling it. Now I have a great chance of getting my money back or having him do costly repairs.
