I talk to Jon on the regular, try to keep in touch. Thats where my SC300 came from, it was the one he bought out of FL. I just haven't been able to keep up with the forum. I see AJ sold his, sad sad....but, we've all been there.

I know it! I'd definitely have to have a swap, as dumb as it sounds, for efficiency and gas mileage! I'm waaay out in the country now, I average 120 miles daily. I don't like driving "normal" stuff so when I pick another one up I'll need to average 25+ with non spirited driving. If I did a 4g64 again, it'd be stock cams, maybe a 20g (for laggy boost, I don't like insta boost like my 1.8t, it makes boost while letting the clutch out at a light...) 1jz would be great as well. I've got a step son that wants to "work on" something with me, so I figured it could be a project to get him started. He's young, but interested. I'm doing sales and finance at a buddy's car lot at the moment, was planning on it being temporary, but its been working pretty well with family life so far.

I'm glad my username still works! I was a little worried. How is everyone? I'm doing good, lots of changes. Got married last July, sold out of the business Dec 31st last year, had a little girl this July. Would like to get back in the game in the near future. Not to the degree of my last Starion, but something to play with. I had a SC300 w/ 2jz swap big single manual last year after going a while w/o a speed vehicle, I think I've grown out of it for the time being somehow. I've got two audi's and an integra I'm flipping right now, once I sell these three I'd really like to pick up another quest. So whats new in the market? I'm going to do some reading around, its slow, rainy monday so I'm gonna try and catch up today!

I built the car including the engine and those are my videos on you tube with me driving. I didn't sell the car because it didn't hit my expectations, I sold it because during the 3 years it took to build it my business got extremely demanding and I never drove it anymore. I had the car 6 years and put a total of 12k miles on it, and about $26k cash on top of the original purchase price. All in all it was time to move on. If I was keeping the car I was going to put stock cams back in, a 16g and a quiet muffler and use it more of a daily. I talked to Jonboy about this several times. I didn't and don't have the time to race anymore and by the time I got done building the car, it was waaay more than I wanted, although it was what I wanted when I started. It had nothing to do with hurting for money or car being hurt itself. I've been on here waaaay too long and met waaay to many people to stick it to someone for $10k. I'm sure hope everyone I've met feels that way.

It would smoke of raw gas, but not oil smoke. I never got the Maf translater 100%. I did the compression test the day I parked it when I recieved the deposit. Also checked for shaft play, which there was none. He did race the ever living s*** out of that car. There is more than enough proof of that. I'm the one that built that engine..if it had a problem it would have been no biggie to strip it down and run thru it. Hell I put a clutch in it for the hell of it while it sat here for a few months waiting to get picked up. That was never discussed, I knew it had to be close to due for one so I just put it in and surprised him when he picked it up.

I got around 30-32mpg driving it to PF '08. Just leaned out the cruising rpms/throttle points.

The flywheel in the car was a stock 240mm that had been lightened. I believe TEP had done the machining on it back when Artinist had the car. The car came to Alabama in 2002, it has probably been turned 4-5 times since, but we never had it "lightened" any further than what it was. I want to say it weighed around 21lbs?

This blows....I miss the hell out of that car. I figured it got hurt since he was wanting to trade it off so fast. Compression #'s when I sold it were with in 4psi of each other (high 180's/low 190's), and I think that was only 1 hole, the others were same if not off 1psi. Glad to see it still on the forum. I haven't been on in a while, got on searching for a low mileage stockish one to daily drive again.

I may end up renting a chevy aveo!! BMW alt went out last night, replacement @ 10% over cost at dealer is $800 something. Found a reman in ATL (come out of Germany) for $430 but won't be delivered till Thursday. Its water cooled and a complain to get to...don't know if I'll get around to it. Ya'll aren't gonna disown me because I show up in an Aveo right?
