Steering shaft replacement

I was wanting to see how difficult it is to replace the whole shaft with the knuckle, that's notorious for going bad. Mine has a half inch of steering play. I bought this a few years back. And this is how I received it.

I've been having problems with my 83 starion that i believe may have something to do with fuel. Microsquirt ignition Wiring with MSD6AL and 8910

I am 50% thru my microsquirt build. I have all of my wiring sketched out except the ignition wiring.
I currently have a MSD6AL with 8910 tach adaptor running on the factory ignitor box.
Can someone provide me a good link to data that shows how I can run either fuel only or spark control on the micro while retaining the 6al?
