Wow, great job man. Everything looks good. Yeah dont paint the bay...I think it adds to the "sleeper mode". At some point I am going to be dumping my built 4G63 head/block into my 88 quest. I plan on hitting 10's with it in the awd gsx first however. Well done...!

MS1 w/ msns-e 029y4 on v3 board.

sorry, heres the PS pics.

I used a 1g power steering bracket, and made up a mount that bolts to the old lower alternator mount.

For the high rpm th350 issue, i addressed that with the guy that built my trans, and he said w/ the b&m manual valve body, and the "high output mod" he called it, to the pump, I should be fine up to about 8k.

also, I have a spare powerglide just incase I need it ;)

but I'm too poor for nitrous.

and I haven't actually got this out on the street yet, cause I am getting the winter beater up and going for the up-coming season, so that takes precedence over my toys.

well, still messin with the winter beater. so no real updates aside from all the little leaks are fixed, not patched, but fixed, and the starter crapped out on me while trying to get the startup enrichments setup.

yes, evo 8, i had to make some brackets for it using the stock lower mounts on the IC. Its (2) 1"x1/4"x~2.5" bars that goto a 10mm threaded hole in the core support. Since it was pushing agains the bar that hols up the hood latch panel deal, i just slit down the side of a vacuum line and ran it across the top so it wont rattle.

I also had to mod the bumper so that there will be airflow across the whole thing.

just to update, per a couple pms and some other mentions throughout the board.

its sitting next to the garage still waiting for me to yank the motor/trans to change the starter.

I'm re-building a g54b for the 85.5 flatty in the mean time. It's basically a stock rebuild minus balance shafts and jet valves.

It will still be tbi w/ megasquirt and 1000cc injectors. running a k26 turbo, knockoff 38mm wastegate, knockoff geedy bov, and an evo8 ic. (i'm not taking any parts off the 87 to get the 85.5 running. in hopes of having 2 running quests this summer  )

A few people have asked "what are you doing with the 4g63 quest?"

well. I'm making a new adapter plate for it.

The one I bought was "used". It wasn't from buschur come to find out.

Buschurs flexplate is based of of a fwd dsm flywheel. So I had to relocate the starter, which was done with a drill, die grinder, and sawzall. (I know, not the right tools for the job)

Then I had thought my starter had gone out. Well the only way to change it on this setup is to pull the motor, trans or both.

So I pulled them out. And come to find out, the starter just knocked back so the teeth wouldnt contact.

So I said screw it and got some dimensions off the narrow block and the th350 and played around in autocad. Depending on what my machine shop quotes me, I might just have my own made instead of dealing w/ buschur. As long as its lower. I doubt buschurs will be cheaper ;)

Heres how it sits:

and heres my cad file if anyone wants to get crazy. (its not done)

I moved my alternator to the intake side of the motor.

I am using a 1g water pump w/ a g54b outlet welded onto it.

and yes, water pump goes to the bottom of the radiator and rear of the head goes to the top of the radiator.

Very nice thread and I love your car!

You used a Th350 Tranny but how hard do you think it would be to swap in an A-904?

Is this a car that lends itself to back halfing ie Pro-Street?

Heres my new plate. It's 3/8" steel. It fits quite well. I updated the dxf file and threw a couple flanges in the wasted space.

Here's my small first order.

http://www.ilostmymind.com/upload/DSCN3686.JPG

The location for the starter is setup for the fwd flywheel w/ a stock 4g63/4g54 starter. Incase anyone plans to use it for a t56 swap, then just get a custom clutch disk made... in theory its that simple.

look what i made.

the junk on it was for pressure testing.. my only leaks now are the tb shaft seals.

For those wondering on "why steel, not aluminum"

The answer is it is a lot easier for me to work with and cheaper for me.

and I do not intend to make these for people.

How much for that intake? jk.....you didn't use the same starter location as the buschur plate?
