Well DIYautotune sells the kit assembled for $410,

FIP sells the kit with harness/sensors/and great support for $495. I will most likely go this route.

Steven

I was going by the unassembled kit for $250 thats what i bought, If you have a slight of hand then you can solder it yourself. If you look at the Megasquirt verson 1 which just controls fuel that kit is only like 130 bucks unassembled and 190 assembled.

A.J. Im trying real hard to get it completed as soon as I financially can  I still have to buy a T3/T4 and header as well as a EMS. But I should be able to get it close.. Glad I got bumped up another $3 per hr.

So say it is MS. Its prebuilt, pre tuned, comes with all necessary hardware, good tech support, good price, and has available accessories such as the handheld tuner for great prices. Would it make you happier if they put them in prettier boxes? Now where is mine at!

phil

Hey Phil I do understand that the FIP products are easy to intstall and start off with a good map to get your car running... But my friend, Megasquirt sold a handheld tuner first  O and they are in pretty boxes, those are megasquirt case's  . Thats all i'm sayin

The case they use has nothing to do with megasquirt its just a generic aluminum case like you can buy at radio shack(they are using a differnt case now anyway and are on a second smaller revision of the circuit board.) the fip system is a completly differnt board than mega squirt (i have seen them side by side).

Just a mock up to see how it will fit in there.

Looks like the #4 fuel injector is going to be right against the heater core hose. I mean right against it. Not much room between the intake and master cylinder. But it does fit with the AC still there :D/ So glad about that..

Looks like the Fed Ex man came through today with my Turbo. Ill have to wrap it and put it under the Tree. Now waiting on my SDS EMS to come in this week. Also got some SS valves coming from DAD, and a 294 Cam from Trilogy Turbos(3weeks). I have began porting my head, once im done ill take it in for new valve guides and to have the seats cut for the bigger valves.

Megasquirt isnt 'specifically targeted' for our cars. Has anyone here built a Megasquirt ? only one I know was ?david? Easton? He had one on his supercharged quest for a while right? That kit isnt 'easy' to assembly, you can easily fry the CPU chip with too much heat or end up with a bunch of cold solder joints and fried components if you are good at electronics. Anyway, FIP stepped up and made some real products with real results for us, so stop hatin. Those guys are nice, back their products up (unlike some fabricators and venders and u all know who im mentioning..) and actually respond to fone calls and emails. I know personally I have called them many times trying to get my FIP computer and MPI going .. (drat let the cat out the bag!)
