I am interested but will hang back to see how it developes. Which t56 is best for us the mustang or camaro t56? does it matter? I can get a t56 no problem from my ford budies. They really are a cool bunch of guys.

It needs to be from an LT-1 camaro/firebird (93-97) the other makes/models require too much fabrication to be $$$ feasable.

the ford could probably be made to work, but I don't have one to test, and won't persue it untill this kit is fully developed and tested.

ok are those 2 flywheels Fidanza ...

whats the difference because i have a brand new Fidanza Flywheel that i purchase for my 88 starion project.. don't know if my new fidanza flywheel will work with Chad's T-56 Transmission Project conversion, if it doesn't fit i have to get another fidanza flywheel specific for the t56 tranny.....

1 thing for sure my fidanza flywheel works for my conquest tranny 5 speed tranny.

Chad yes keep going ... we would love to see cool results... take your time no rush ...

Hey guys,

I am very sorry, but I have been tied down with work, lately and have had no time to work on these projects.

I am currently assembling the engine for the 6-speed car - so I have not put the kit together- thanks to Midwest -I finally have the Flywheel.

I will post every detail - when I get to that point.

I have been stuck on fabricating the rear section of the chassis car with the integrated rear defuser- but think I am close to a look that I am happy with. the rest will be much more straight forward. I will post some update pics when I have finalized the design.

Thanks for the consideration, Work is just so everwhelming right now..

this economy has been very hard on most small businesses and you find yourself working twice as hard to generate the same income...

But..... Summer is here and the cars can come out and play...

UPS just dropped off another piece of the puzzle

Now I just need a driveshaft and some time.

It uses a GM yoke at both ends so any shop can make one in a matter of minutes. It was designed to use the spicer 1350 U joints, those can hold 1250 ft/lb 8) if you use the solid aftermarket ones.

I had mine done though D@D transmissions for $500, rated at 2000 HP (same one his son uses in a 6.5XX 1/4 mile ET mustang). I would suspect a nice DOM steel unit would cost about $250 and hold 500 ft/lb easily, it's only ~ 23" long center-to-center.

Is that the Feramic one? If so I have the same one.

Stage 3+ - Features a streetable high clamp pressure plate and full face carbon semi-metallic disc. Listed as an upgrade to the stage 3, it offers torque capacities more comparable to the stage 5 but with drivability equal to, and in some cases better than, the stage 3. The high capacity and excellent drivability characteristics of this clutch is a result of years of research and development for this SPEC exclusive disc compound.

the normal stage 3 is carbon ceramic.
