TSITy
You can add adjustable to stock setup with these: https://groundcontrolstore.com/products/coilover-conversion-kit-83-89-dodge-conquest-starion Or Mookeeh has lowering springs: https://www.ebay.com/itm/146078894384?_skw=conquest&itmmeta=01J9E7WAMBTEC2NWASEF8ZABQ2&hash=item2202fb0930:g:Ca4AAOSwtzRnACW3 I like the eibach's personally, you can still adjust back to stock ride height. And leave the stock shocks in. With the mookeeh lowering springs you should really get the shorter shocks too. spyhunter6733
I was looking at the sleeves GC coilovers... curious how they fit... do they sit correctly on the stock perch? Would love to see pics of them on stock struts up front especially... Yea i read the info on the mookeh set up and it said the shock and struts would be another inch shorter... what is prob right in range ...1.25 springs and another inch with the dampners... 2.25... would love that!! Believe the full set is sold out... If i bought the front inserts for stock strut and then used kybs with the empty rear shock casing from mookeh would i still get that extra inch? Love to see pics of the mookeh spring and shock set up on a car too 🤔

And how do i buy a full set? Would i need 2 different numbers for fronts and rears? (650frnt /750rear) Numbers just examples
psu_Crash
I'll have to see if I can find the info on my old eibach set. In the end I wasn't happy with them. Although that was mostly autocross use. The car sat lovely, but I could throw the air dam into the pavement on a hard corner. I also can ST springs and cosmo coilovers at different times. Those ground controls have a great rep with my BMW friends. Maybe that's the way to go if you don't want full coilover with cutting the spindle. I've been running D2 suspension for a long time now and nothing else compares, in my humble opinion.
spyhunter6733
Yea D2s are what id really want... just out of reach for now... prob for a while too lol If the GCs are just a sleeve over type deal souldnt somthing on ebay be the same idea for a fraction of the cost.. just have to be the right spring rate? So it wouldnt ride horrible... im fine with a little bounce...
psu_Crash
Mookeeh (MK1), Cosmo, ST were all options at one time. I really don't know if any of those are still around. I will try to remember to look in the garage tonight. I might have a set of lowering springs still. Not sure if I tossed them in the move a few years back or not. There is definitely info here about the Eibach spring rates. I forgot to mention, please don't cut a coil. Does it work? Sure. Is it really safe? No Edited October 7 by psu_Crash
kev
I have GCs, I like them...are they D2s...no, but they do the job. The GCs are similar to the cheaper coilovers like cosmo but I was able to select my spring rate ( I went pretty soft...softer than what everyone recommended, and I still feel the ride is harsh at times) and they are true eibach springs. Still need the stupid rubber bands in between the collar and strut. Also need to cut the perches to take advantage of the range. But they don't clank on bumps or anything like that. I did upgrade the front tops with spherical bearings when turning. Only photo I could find quickly. The collars aren't that high now, they are almost all the way down to that perch.
spyhunter6733
Man that looks beautiful under there! That is kind what i was wondering how it fits together...so you have to cut the perch? Is it the same up front? Love to see pic of the car ..how it sits

spyhunter6733
these look pretty good anyone had/have em? it says bolt on... that mean they dont have to be welded right? pretty pricy too 😒 https://ksportusa.com/product/mitsubishi-starion-kontrol-pro-coilovers-cmt300-kp/
GoldStar
I have a set. You do need to weld the front sleeves to pre-cut front spindles. Steve at startquestparts.net typically has a set pre-cut for sale. Mikie goes over the process here:

Love to see pic of the car ..how it sits It's the GC kit for our cars: Coilover Conversion kit, 83-89 Dodge Conquest/Starion – Ground Control Suspension Systems (groundcontrolstore.com) I'll have to look up the spring rates, I forgot, it's been too long. Yes, you should cut both the front and rear perches to get the tool in there...at least to make it easy to install/adjust. couple photos of the car that I found quickly. Somewhere I have a picture of it sitting next to my stock 88 driver, which really shows the difference. If I find it, I'll post it. I'll look for the spring rates too. I haven't had a chance to look for the spring rates but the rear springs are 8" long and the front are 7". You could alter that as well. edit: I searched on here and found my own post from years back: 350 lbs 7" fronts 250 lbs 8" rears The coilover sleeves linked are commonly referred to 'cosmo' coilovers...although there are many copies. I have a set of those, and they clanked like mad when I had them on one of my cars...but have very stiff springs. Those were bought from the original group purchase on here from a member named 'artinist'.

spyhunter6733
Hmm ... ok so if i pieced it together from mookeh or even ebay those numbers would get me the appearance of the stance in the pics? Also i would only need the sleeve part if i didnt care to adjust it .. if i chose a set of springs that put me right at my desired height wouldnt need it... prob be good though to fine tune everything I imagine if the spring is 7" tall and the adding the sleeve it would be 7.25 to 7.5 over all so running the spring alone would only be quarter to half inch less And then i wouldnt need to mod the perches🤔
spyhunter6733
How would these do? https://www.ebay.com/itm/235781139543?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=_QpIBigwRhi&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=hzRtRLS0Qh2&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
LizardKing
@kev That stance looks nice! I remember 20+ years ago, the SHP adjustable struts with the stiffer springs that needed the struts to be cut to use MR2 inserts is all there was for suspension.. Tokicos where hard to find to replace the stock ones too. I still have a f/r set of shp adjustable struts I picked up many years ago at a junkyard. No springs though.
