With that kinda gap... if it was leaking, certainly would seem that would be rather noticable eh? :huh: . Edited by kidjc

well i don't remember if it was leaking because i limped it home and parked it a few years ago

 

i do know there wasn't a gasket on there when i pulled it apart

(i know that could mean squat)

 

i'm about ready for 1st startup and want to be proactive..

not sure what year you have but every older na 2.6 I have seen had a pluged cat the cat is located inside the exh manifold

 

Ya those are the ones that look like a big coffee can on the bottom but they have a huge opening that has 3 or 4 bolts.

I have seen 2 trucks that would not fire a lick only back fire , went to 3 garages before I got ahold of then,, both had cats so melted and filled with soot that they were 100% pluged , removed the aux air valve and both fired right up ,,after mechanics had spent day and days trying to get them running :)
