natallica
My gaskets looked like crapola so I needed a fix. I scanned and pathed out on my PC my actual crappy gasket, and I made a template for these and I used an engraving machine at work to cut it out of PVC. Then, after tons of searching, I purchased some material that was a pretty darn close match to the closed cell rubber foam that Mitsu used (but this is a tad denser, which is good). After spending about 1.5 hours making them look good, I think I came up with a viable solution (until I find a material that is black, not that you's ever see it on the car). http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff408/n8tallica1/DSC02942.jpghttp://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff408/n8tallica1/DSC02943.jpghttp://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff408/n8tallica1/DSC02941.jpghttp://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff408/n8tallica1/DSC02939.jpg I may consider making a few more sets.... would any of you be interested. The way I have to do it is a bit tedious and takes some time, but I'd consider making them if I could get around $40.00 shipped per pair. Just a thought. Anyone interested? Lemme know what you guys think, I'm pretty sure these aren't still available through Mitsu. Thanks for looking-N8

MotoCam360
Hey N8, take your CAD file and go get a laser cut steel rule die made ($200)... this will cut your part cost down to $2.00 ea. When you buy a sheet of material, also consider getting the back lined with adhesive, which will create an awesome watertight bond between the gasket and the car.... it won't come off easy, but how often do people take their tail lights off? Plus you can just sell another set of gaskets if need be. We did this exact same process for our LED Tail Light Kit (forthcoming) Edited December 1, 2012 by MotoCam360

vbrad511
I did mine a few years ago with 1/4 inch closed cell neoprene foam I bought off of Ebay. Worked just fine, but not as pretty as yours.
tsi_tom
Very nice job. Do you think that water could creep along the weave of the material? From the picture there appears to be channels in the material.

zactek
Very nice job. Do you think that water could creep along the weave of the material? From the picture there appears to be channels in the material. Slim chance, once the tail lights get tightened down, there will be no weave left to leak, they'll flatten out. Nice job N8! Zack K. Nice job N8! Zack K.That was my 'school of thought' Sir, the metal bites in rather tight so that won;t be a problem. -N8
