brianpaul98
Hey everyone, this has been a super busy year leaving me with less time than ever. I'm trying to clean up a bit around the shop and I dug out every throttle body I could find. I've been contemplating this for a long time and there might be a possibility that I will get a batch of them going. It just takes too much time to build them individually (setting up the machines for just one of each part) and then the hand fitting everything together. I'm thinking that if I can get at least 8 or so people who want one it would be enough to start building a whole batch of them. Here is what I have torn down and waiting to be cleaned up. http://i917.photobucket.com/albums/ad20/brianarnone2009/52MM%20Throttle%20Bodys/52MMThrottleBodys.jpg Whoever is interested post up your name and what type you need either a 3 or 4 vacuum port. Payments are going to be accepted and these will be sent out on a first come first serve basis. I have a butt load of mixer housings but no good usable intakes left. Right now I'm just going to be doing the 52MM throttle body's so this doesn't get overwhelming. For those of you who can match up the intakes that's a plus and for those who can't I'll consider doing them all together after the TB are done. The cost : - 52MM Throttle Body w/ New Stainless Knife Edged Throttle Flap and Milled Shaft - $125.00 ($20.00 Core Charge if we use our parts) - Bore Out Your Intake Manifold & Contour Machined Areas------- $75.00 ($35.00 Core Charge if we use our parts) - Full Intake Port Job, Contour and Remove Any Obstructions --- $75.00 - Full Ported Mixer Housing W/ Your Choice Of Flap Removed Or Knife Edged - $50.00 ($15.00 Core Charge if we use our parts) I'm have been getting asked if I still offer the complete package deal. Since I have a considerable interest in these intake setups I'm going to start offering the full package deal again. You can see what is included below. “52MM PACKAGE DEAL” - Disassemble, Inspect, Clean and Glass Bead all Parts - 52MM Throttle Body w/ Milled Throttle Shaft & New Throttle Shaft Seals - New Stainless Steel Knife Edged Throttle Flap w/ Stainless Allen Screws - Full Port Injection Mixer Housing and Blend Surfaces - Bore Out Your Intake Manifold & Contour Machined Areas - Full Intake Port Job, Contour and Remove Any Obstructions - Throttle Body Gasket Set ( Modified for the 52mm TB ) - Fel-Pro Permatorque Blue Intake Gasket $350.00 Above prices do not include shipping and the Paypal transaction fee. If you will be paying by USPS money order there will be no added Paypal fee. For those of you who never saw one of my 52MM TB's, the ported mixer housings or the bored intakes here are a few pictures. 52MM Throttle Body : http://i917.photobucket.com/albums/ad20/brianarnone2009/52MM%20Throttle%20Bodys/52MMTop.jpg http://i917.photobucket.com/albums/ad20/brianarnone2009/52MM%20Throttle%20Bodys/52MMBottom.jpg http://i917.photobucket.com/albums/ad20/brianarnone2009/52MM%20Throttle%20Bodys/52MMFlap.jpg Mixer Housing : http://i917.photobucket.com/albums/ad20/brianarnone2009/52MM%20Throttle%20Bodys/52MM012.jpg http://i917.photobucket.com/albums/ad20/brianarnone2009/52MM%20Throttle%20Bodys/52MM009.jpg Intake Manifold : http://i917.photobucket.com/albums/ad20/brianarnone2009/52MM%20Throttle%20Bodys/ThrottleBore3.jpg http://i917.photobucket.com/albums/ad20/brianarnone2009/52MM%20Throttle%20Bodys/ThrottleBore4.jpg http://i917.photobucket.com/albums/ad20/brianarnone2009/52MM%20Throttle%20Bodys/ThrottleBore5.jpg http://i917.photobucket.com/albums/ad20/brianarnone2009/52MM%20Throttle%20Bodys/ThrottleBore6.jpg I still offer the Stock Upgraded Throttle Body. SFBMX88
Will this still retain complete EGR function? What is the difference between 3 and 4 port? Definitely interested! Edited May 9, 2012 by SFBMX88

brianpaul98
Will this still retain complete EGR function? What is the difference between 3 and 4 port? Definitely interested! The 52MM won't affect your EGR valves functioning. I don't block or restrict anything unless requested to do so and even then it's on the intake not the TB. As far as the 3 and 4 port I believe the 4 port is on the earlier cars like 86 and older and the 3 port comes on the 87-89 models. I've seem them mixed on just about everything so I don't know for sure. The little differences are the 4th vacuum port of course and I think the mixer housings that don't have the idle screw also go with the 4 port throttle body's. I also seem to remember the little tab on the linkage where the screw hits isn't there on the 4 port. If anyone knows for sure what the combinations are feel free to let us know. brianpaul98
Interested: Lance_S Currently using 3 of my 4 ports. (Dizzy, BOV, HVAC) Thanks. I have both types but if your currently using a 4 port you might want to stay with that one because there are some external differences. Should round off my TBI build quite nicely. Edited May 9, 2012 by Mix_67

brianpaul98
Is there any reviews on doing this? Does it make a noticeable difference? There should be a ton of info on here about the 52MM setups I build. Over the years I have sold over 100 of these units (I saved all the stock flaps) and rarely ever heard bad reviews about them. Basically you can only push so much air through the stock mixer housing, throttle body and intake so by opening it up it allows you to move more air through the system more efficiently. With a stock turbo I doubt you will notice much difference but with a larger turbo and higher boost the 52MM would make a noticable difference. brianpaul98
Ok, I just had a chance to update the list and everyone interested let me know what you want, full setup or just the 52mm TB. Right now I'm just building the 52mm TB's and then as time allows I'll do all the intakes together. Everyone who wants to send me their parts here is my new address : Brian Arnone410 Houston CourtCastle Hayne, NC. 28429 Please include your SQC handle with your parts so I can keep you all straight. Money orders are preferred but Paypal is also ok you just have to pay the fee. Ok, and questions just let me know.
brianpaul98
If I can grab some core parts in the near future I'll definately be in for these. I have 10 or the 52mm TB's going together now and I'm going to do my best to get everything else (intakes, mixers) done in a timely manner. I've been out of it again for about 6 months because life has thrown me a bunch of curve balls and they come from every direction. If it's not moving (I HATE MOVING!!!) it's BS at work, vehicles breaking down, everyone coming over with work they need done asap and then there are times when I just say screw it and go to the beach to get away from everything / everyone. Life has settled down the last few weeks so I'm starting to get back to doing little projects like these 52mm setups. Aside from StarQuests here is my other love that I have been doing since I was about 5 years old. The link should work even if your not logged into the site. http://www.bannedcr500riders.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=12473
conquestTSIguy
Hey Brain! pretty interested in these. Will you be porting the runners on the intake to? or is this just mainly focused on the mixer portion?
