52MM Throttle Body's *** Maybe ***

Recommended Posts

Argh, just pulled out my core parts to send you and it looks like I only have the intake manifold. I will need to find a whole TB assembly first....

No hurry this will be going on for a while. I'm just trying to get them done as time permits.

Did my box ever show up?

I don't recall when it went out, but I'm pretty sure I could've hand delivered on foot by now, haha.

Darnit, sorry about that. I thought I sent you a message but I guess I dropped the ball on that one. Yes your package is here and it arrived last week. I'll be getting a few more intakes from other members and want to have them all together so I can bore them out at the same time.

It's been a few weeks since I had a chance to work on anything due to family visiting and I just wanted to give everyone an update on the 52MM throttle body's. Today I finished up all the flaps and now it's just a matter of hand fitting everything together. Anyone who is just waiting on the 52mm without the whole setup let me know, I should have a few ready to go by the end of this week.

Hello everyone, I'm sorry for the delay's with the 52mm setups but dammit if life doesn't always get in the way. I have been able to really devote a good deal of time to these setups this past week and here are a few new pictures.

HERE ARE 6 TB's ALL FINISHED UP AND READY TO GO

http://i917.photobucket.com/albums/ad20/brianarnone2009/52MM%20Throttle%20Bodys/52MMTB1.jpg

THESE ARE ABOUT HALF THE MIXER HOUSINGS I MACHINED OUT THAT ARE JUST WAITING ON TOUCH UP PORTING AND GLASS BEADING. BELOW IS WHAT IT WILL LOOK LIKE WHEN IT'S DONE.

http://i917.photobucket.com/albums/ad20/brianarnone2009/52MM%20Throttle%20Bodys/52MMMixers.jpg

HERE IS A COMPLETED MIXER HOUSING READY TO GO. THAT DIVIDER IS A LOT SHARPER THAN IT LOOKS.

http://i917.photobucket.com/albums/ad20/brianarnone2009/52MM%20Throttle%20Bodys/52MMMixerComplete1.jpg

IN THE PAST I WOULD KNIFE EDGE THE DIVIDER AND TAPER THE INLET BY HAND BUT THAT IS VERY LABOR INTENSIVE. I RECENTLY MADE A FIXTURE TO TAPER BORE THEM AND THEN KNIFE EDGE THE DIVIDER SO NOW IT TAKES LESS THAN HALF THE TIME AND GIVES MUCH BETTER RESULTS.

http://i917.photobucket.com/albums/ad20/brianarnone2009/52MM%20Throttle%20Bodys/52MMMixerComplete2.jpg

I'M ALSO THROWING IN SOME STAINLESS ALLEN SCREWS TO SPRUCE THINGS UP A BIT. IF YOU HAVE THE 52MM TB AND JUST WANT ONE OF THE MIXER HOUSINGS THEY ARE $50.00 PLUS SHIPPING.

http://i917.photobucket.com/albums/ad20/brianarnone2009/52MM%20Throttle%20Bodys/52MMMixerComplete3.jpg

I know they're not the prettiest pictures but I just wanted to let everyone see that the 52mm TB's are ready to go and the mixers are ready for the finish touch ups and then glass beading. I have all the intakes bored out and ready for the final blending and port work for those who wanted it.

These setups will be ready to ship out within the next week so everyone who is ready let me know.

Brian, You can also add a new set of injectors to my setup (standard 650/950) as I may as well go with them new also. LMK when you need some $ and what the total will be. Cheers

Hello my friend, I just shot you a total shipped on your parts. Everything will be ready to go out either tomorrow or Wednesday :D

I have two 52mm TB's for sale. The first one has some pitting on the bottom where the coolant flows through. I don't know where this came from probably someone sent it in as a core somewhere along the line. Anyway it's perfectly usable and sort of an unseen ugly once it's bolted on. This will in no way affect the tb's ability to seal or hurt the performance of the unit.

http://i917.photobucket.com/albums/ad20/brianarnone2009/52MM%20Throttle%20Bodys/52MM2.jpg

$125.00 plus shipping and Paypal to the first one who wants it

The other 52mm TB is a pretty nice black powder coated unit that I got back in a parts lot from a certain turbo deal that went south.

http://i917.photobucket.com/albums/ad20/brianarnone2009/52MM%20Throttle%20Bodys/52MMBlack2.jpg

I'd like to get $140.00 plus shipping and Paypal for this part so I can recoup some of my losses.

If anyone would like to make a package deal out of these just let me know.

Yes I can ship one to you and just add the $20.00 for the core charge so it would be $145.00. Would you need a 3 or 4 vacuum port TB? I can ship one to you in a USPS small flat rate box for $16.95 if I don't install the throttle linkage on it. Would you be able to install the linkage once it gets to you? Ok, let me know

Hello Steve, the linkage is very easy to re-install especially if you have your own TB to use as a guide. The only tricky part is winding the throttle return spring several times while holding the linkage together then get it on the shaft. I have 3 vacuum port TB's here and Paypal will be fine.

I actually have a complete and ready to go 52mm TB here but what happened was I didn't notice a very small hair line crack near one of the ears that holds on the TPS unit. I guess one of my customers sent me a core that must have gotten bumped in shipping or somewhere during its life. It's not anything that I would consider critical as the small crack does not go all the way through, its just more cosmetic than anything. Once the TPS is bolted on you would never know it was there and it would not affect the operation / adjustment in any way. If you would like to see this one just send me your email address and I'll send you some close up pictures. I would also waive the $20.00 core charge on this unit since it has the defect. If you would rather a different TB that is also not a problem it will just take me a little time to put one together for you. Ok, let me know and have a Very Merry Christmas

I'd like to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I'm sorry to say that the 52mm TB's I have been building may be the last I will be making due to new life circumstances. If you are on the fence about getting one done this may be the time to send in your parts.

I have two more throttle body's for sale. They are both 4 vacuum port type which is nice if you are running a boost / vacuum gauge and BOV you don't need to T off the line. I'll be posting pictures later on this weekend. Get them while they last, I only have a few more left and won't be making more.

$125.00 plus shipping and PP.

Here is the 52mm 4 port I have ready to go. I have one more I'm making the flap for and then it will also be available.

I also have several full ported mixer housings left

$45.00 each

Digging through my mess I found two 52mm intakes that are bored out and just need to be finished up.

This one was from a certain turbo guy who I got my parts back from. It's powder coated a silver color with some fuel and coolant staining. It may clean off it may not, I haven't got that far yet. Threads all look good, no porting that I can see.

No Core Necessary - $125.00

This one is very clean with no stripped threads. It will be glass beaded and looking like new when its done. Some mild gasket matching was done.

I have the full setup, guys pics don't do it justice. There's a ton of maunal labor in each part and it shows, Brian's an artist with this stuff. Everything maches up perfectly.

Only once in a while do things like this come along that address one of the primary issues with making power in a Starion: the size of the TB and mixer. Big intercooler pipes don't matter with a tiny TB.
