i've count'd lets see 4 or 5 site format changes over the years ,, 95 sounds about right , i read threads for a good year before i ever post'd the first time ,

back then the first reply to any question was replace this and if that don't work replace some thing else :) sure has change'd

I printed out heaps of stuff around 1999 by a Vince Tucker, and it referred to his "Starquest Site" anyone know who that is/was?

Turned out to be pointless as is was all about US spec cars, I then didn't look at the internet again until I bought my 4ws car around 2005 and found the Aussie site.

16 years old, SQC is just getting it's license.

I lurked for over a year before I joined. Could not stop reading threads on here, I was addicted...

Pretty sure it was Shelby that parted the waters and let the SQ's through.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of Starquests, I will fear no Evo: for thou ralliart with me; thy g54b and thy turbo they comfort me.

I first joined in 1999 and it had been around for at least a few years before that. I can distinctly remember at least 3 complete revamps of the boards since then. Like others have said, this site keeps getting better and better at troubleshooting and modification help since a good portion of us have been there and broke that by now ;)

How many of you remember Jay Kolda and his boards? I'm sure Bill and Shelby do. Ahh those were the days lol

That's where I found the car I currently have. Bought it off a guy named Paul Cleary in Toronto. Wish I knew how to get ahold of him now.

Edit: For the newer members here's a bit of history for you and all that remains of Vince Tucker's site as far as I know

I joined in 99 when I got my car. I remember talking to shelby through aim trying to get my car to run right. Used to be quick88tsi.. Didn't log on for over 6 years when I was in college

. Back when pennic00 and pete yack (quick89tsi) used to be around.

Wow, and I thought I came along in the earliest days... I had no idea the site went back to the mid-90's! I started back around 2000 when ryddler's board had the SQ GIF chomping on Hondas or something. I think I have that .gif file saved somewhere. I was monkeywrench72 back then. There was someone else who signed up as just "monkeywrench" and was causing confusion with my screenname so I just set up another screenname in 2003 to what I have now.

It's hard to believe I have spent about 11 years coming around here!

I go back to the Kolda days. Anyone remember MDSOG?

Also when was the first big organised meet? The first one that I recall was the one in Englishtown, NJ in 2000 that was put together by BoostedYack. This was the first time I can remember anyone trying to meet on a big scale so I drove from Austin for this. I went in 2000 and 2001. In 2002 I went to Norwalk.

In 1997 I got my 86 and my 486

I remember the old site as text with a

chronological older-to-newer view Non-Threaded or Semi-Threaded links

There wasn't a way to share images in the posts and you have to be really good at descriptions

and only 15 to 20 active members.

It intimidated me and influenced my return to school to learn more about cars and computers.

That is because we are old   Shelby and I have seen many a member leave this site, never to return. For myself, nine years on here.......It is time to leave  Shelby has been here a hell of a lot longer. He was the first member to post help for me back in 2002. I will never forget that day.
