So just to confirm something else about your setup I went and talked to a shop friend of mine about those return lines.

There was no mention of my question about the setup and I did want to say that after talking to the shop out here, you might want to re-route those return lines to not have that dead leg in the flow. It is a gravity fed setup and could back out oil.

Its a thought, it might be a small chance, might be a certainty, but either way I wouldnt want to risk my turbos over a relatively easy fix.

Aside from that, looks incredible.

On a side note from my ideas I did decide to not go forward with this on a Starion. Instead this build inspired me to go a little different route. We (I say WE because this isnt going to be me alone), are going to build a RWD setup with the MIVEC motor twin turbo charged on another Stealth. I am 6'3" and 280 lbs and to be honest I didnt fit all that great in my last Starion. So decided to stick with the Stealth platform. Planning on running a 300ZX Z32 5Spd MT mated to a Stealth 6 spd rear end. Project will get under way here pretty soon. Sourcing parts right now. Already bought the chassis.

I was talking myself into another Starion mainly because I farging love these things lol. I dont fit for s*** in it, but I love looking at them lol. Best looking car of the 80s!

Anyways, I will be around. Best of luck Turbo!

Hope to see some of you at MOD! lol

Yes, I have noticed that and a buddy of mine who has lost a turbo because of that same reason brought it up as well - that will definitely be addressed and probably just have new/shorter lines made. There are a lot of little fixes that need to be made, but all in all, the heavy lifting stuff is done, just needs a bit of tweaking here and there. Thanks!

I would love to see bills 6g72 adapter. this is a motor with a lot of potential, normally being applied the wrong way.

being in a rwd platform, like the quest or a montero, but for fun on road use, this could be bad.

you could use that adapter to make a rwd stealth/3kgt.

or you could use a sohc v6 and still make decent power with a turbo and some light internal mods. save some cash and sport the old fashioned sohc like the car came with.

either way... sweeeeet.

I didn't knock him in the first place and my name ended up coming out of his mouth, I just showed him something he said couldn't be done, he knew the person that did it but for some reason chose to ask me about it instead of the person he knows...nothing I said was negative until he insinuated I needed to take something I said back...

I am setting up my pullmax right now to build the flexplates

what is ATX ?

I'm guessing "automatic transmission"... but to answer the question on 'who wants an auto sports car anyways?'.... that'd be anyone who wants to use the car for primarily drag racing. :)

I needed to build a flex plate so I got some HSLA commercial grade 1/8 in plate and marked the center with a small starter hole, you can see the original flex plate was built from 1/16th but its shape was fairly close

this machine is called a nibbler or pullmax style machine, it was built for making circles, but I also build my own dies for what ever purpose I want to use

http://www.billsautofab.com/images/6G72GMadapter49.JPG http://www.billsautofab.com/images/6G72GMadapter50.JPG

a flex plate is just that, it flex's and its also like a spring, it gets pushed forward under load, the flex plate has to move about .060 so a bit of a bend not only keeps a little of pressure against the load but when you bend steel, you double its strength without adding weight

I opened the center hole so I could mount my adapter and then drilled it to accept the Ford C-4 torque converter and this was one of the reasons the C 4 was chosen, it has a 10.5 in bolt circle pattern, which was just small enough to fit inside the ring gear that was selected, the GM converter was 10.75 and would not fit

http://www.billsautofab.com/images/6G72GMadapter51.JPG http://www.billsautofab.com/images/6G72GMadapter54.JPG

I mounted the flex plate to the coupler just for the center, then I trimmed the outer diameter to size for the ring gear

http://www.billsautofab.com/images/6G72GMadapter56.JPG http://www.billsautofab.com/images/6G72GMadapter59.JPG

this is the finish look, I need to pay some attention to detail but I was pretty happy with it, with the smaller ( 10 in or smaller ) converter I will be mounting the starter as a reverse set up but I kept the ring gear on the flex plate so anyone could select and buy what ever stall speed converter they may want
