Like BC said, they look darker than they are. 3 coats of VHT "Night Shades" and a few coats of a good urethane automotive clear. The clear actually makes them look darker than they are and really gives them that deep, glossy piano black look. I have done dozens of sets of tailights for many different cars and have done them all the same. The brake lights, and even parking lights are still visible during the day, Every set I have done used normal off the shelf bulbs... no LEDs, and even with the standard bulbs, they are nicely visible. Finally getting motivated to get this car back together now that I have the 1/4 panel I need from parting a car and all of that is done and over with. Here are some updated pictures of the progress. Unfortunately its my favorite, so I have to do what's in my ability to do. Now paint and final bodywork is gonna have to be a paid job for someone. I just don't have the knack for it. And thanks for the kind words on the progress and the shop. I shudder to think of the stuff you would turn out if you had a serious shop available to you 24/7, after seeing what you've done thus far...I bet the outcomes would be mind blowing. Hollar at me if you need any other pics of my rust bucket to help you figure out your progress ect, on yours. Also, if you need any clean patch pieces, I have a few bits available, and am probably picking up another rust free car to sacrifice soon.
