jaysgottaredtop
Do you have a link for them? There are some here (http://www.guerillar.../ns-div2-wheel/), but ebay might have them cheaper. Look ok. Problem will still be tires. You say that, but 225/50/16 and 245/50/16 are still commonly available sizes, plus...225/45 is available for Star Specs (http://www.tirerack....tnum=245WR6Z2SS)245/45 is available for Proxes T1Rs (http://www.tirerack....rtnum=445WR6T1R)245/45 is available for Potenza RE-11s (http://www.tirerack....um=445WR6RE11V2)

jaysgottaredtop
Call me a hater but Id rather roll on stockers than cheap replica wheels Agreed. I'm just throwing it out there as an alternative to hunting down 25 year old wheels.
Fuze
I like 'em Jay. They are a lot like my old Rikens, almost the same. Starion rims are sweet but they aren't very strong so it's all relative. I'd take a set of these in 8.5 and 9.5 before I'd pay a fortune for some SHP's with a smaller lip than a set of regular Starion rims have. The mesh looks good on an 80's car too. patra_is_here
seem ok for a person on a budget. won't be anywhere near the quality of our stockers. but at least they look ok
TexasQuest
By no means a track-grade wheel but nice for streets & meets.
Fuze
I'm really wondering why people think Starion rims are strong..? They are made of soft aluminum and bend very easily. Almost any used set you get will need to be fixed if you want them to spin totally straight, especially on the backside of the rear rims they are prone to flat spots. Has manufacturing technology really not improved in 25 years to the point where an affordable rim is not at the level of an OEM wheel from 1987..? Bills89quest
not a fan of the layed out look on that Toyota...but that's just me I guess. Kids now days think its cool when your wheels are crooked I guess cuz of how low they sit....anyways the wheels look ok as others have said, but I like my shp's better. jaysgottaredtop
^ Image wheels aren't cheap. Example: cast face 3-pc 16x10 wheel straight from Image is roughly $500 per wheel before shippinghttp://www.imagewhee...rices_cast.html

Understood, but I think people exaggerate quite a bit. The hit it would take to break the center on a rim... maybe sliding into a curb sideways at speed? Anything will be destroyed by that. My main concern is bent barrels. I've had other cheap rims that took a pothole hit much better than the stocks.
patra_is_here
ahh I see. maybe cheapos are heavier and have thicker barrels? aluminum hasn't changed much in 25 years.
Fuze
Possibly, I will say that the stock are very light. I'm just trying to think about it practically. I've broke a lot of different types of rims but never the center part. Aluminum may not have changed much but the manufacturing processes must have in that time.
