  1. The passing control relay has nothing to do with the transmission. Check that the wiring harness is hooked up on top of the bell housing next to the rear of the block as well. Remember that the OD operation is controlled by temp. If engine is cold it should not go into OD. The switch on the shifter only allows you to turn off and to engage if the temp requirement is meet. Check in forum and FAQ,s.
  2. I'll take send me PayPal again. On the road now my be tomorrow before I hit you back. Alan
  3. Check corrosion in bulb sockets. And ground.
  4. Sorry I didn't back with you guys yesterday, other projects at the house. I sent a primary first that was leaking, cost about 4 $ to ship and 40 something for the service. They shipped it back, quick turnaround. Not sure what all they do to them, but it works and installed in the car. Then I sent my original pri/sec for the same service. They called and explained that the internal problem they could not repair/fabricate. Returned to me and refunded payment. Then I sent 2 secondary that Dave gave me. Same thing with them. So now I am out a secondary. If you would Mark, send me payment info for the ones you have. Hit me on this site or owenbyj@outlook.com I'm going to check one more source. Thanks guys!
  5. The first primary I sent went well. They have you send to GB Manufacturing in Calf. The others I sent could not be saved. They called to explain. So no complaints.
  6. My injectors leak. Did the TBI kit several times and sent thru Rock Auto for Reman/Return, no luck. David(87quest-TSI) had several to donate, no luck there either. Any recommendations? Has anyone used the ones from fuelinjectorclinic? 89, stock other that no Balance shafts, jet valves, and egr/exhaust emissions. Thanks!
  7. On my 89 auto it was mounted to the transmission stud on top of the mount. In the last pic that would be under the nut just below speedo cable as pictured.
  8. Got mine from Rock Auto.

  10. Hang in there! It will get better. I was in the hospital in Mons, Belgium for almost 3 weeks when I was stationed there. I was 42 and in shape for the Army. It really put me down hard, pneumonia is serious stuff. Get well with time and care.
  11. Great! They do make time fly. I'll get Cathy to do a baby quilt. Best to all of you. Stay in touch and enjoy!
  12. Starquestgarage.com, 1988 FSM start on page 21-82. Drawing breakdown.
  13. Great job! I knew you could do it. Looks great also, I now have a parts washer for a better cleaning job. Wish I had thought to build a box cradle like you did, I just flipped it over. Congrats!!
  14. The shaft is very hard to turn once every thing is bolted up. The FSM has a drawing that shows location of the washer bearings. I'll try to remember to look when I get home from work. Edit: IN the 1988 manual look at page 21-83 and item #3 on page 21-91 for that bearing washer. Different page numbers in the 1989 manual. Good luck!

Easy to work with, good price, quick. Everything was as he said it was.
  16. They were the same way with me, when I got OD drum measurements wrong they sent another free.
  17. Go to auto section, search rebuild or " band and drums". You will find mine, Mikes and others. I don't know how to attach the link here. Some one tell me how and I will.http://www.starquestclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=101625&hl=%2Bbands+%2Band+%2Bdrums
  18. In the auto section there are several write-ups on rebuild. I even posted some pic's and info when I did mine. If I can do it any of you guys can.
  19. I had to replace the drums on mine. I got them from JP Transmission in TX. Call, tell which one you need for the Mits/JATCO trans. Also helps to give the measurement from lip to slot for snap ring. Mazda and Nissan used different friction stack up for different applications. They are on the internet, easy to work with and quick. I also got a bag of all the washer bearings that used in the transmission.
  20. Take the advice from Kev. A replacement fix is take a piece of the cable to Lowe's, Home Depot or such. Match up the size, I don't remember if was 5/16th or what, and get 10 feet of it an some of the same size crimping furrels (not sure of the spelling, correct name). The 10 feet is more than needed but gives you some to work with, lube and slide thru the sheath, wrap, crimp and cut off extra cable. Mine has worked flawless going on 3 years.
  21. I bought one from Rock Auto about 4 weeks ago. Perfect match.
  22. Jimmy, you can bounce back! Take it from a old retired Army guy.
