michael knight
Anycar can be made a daily driver pending it fits your needs, i.e. doors, seats, trunk space, etc. All you have to do is spend the time, effort, and money to get it properly running and are prepared to fix things as they break. I feel it all comes down to budget, If you could go buy a new camaro you would. However, since you chose the quest this tells me you had a certain budget to reamin within. There are really no cars IMO that are truly dependable for 1-3k. A case of, you get what you pay for. With all this said, I bought my quest for 5k and spent another 4k on it. It is as dependable as any other 9-10k car. Hope this helps. Good luck and keep it. It will not break down more than any other comparable car if treated properly. With reliabillity upgrades you will be very pleased. I don't DD my Quest. However, I'm sure it would be more than willing to do so. A case of, you get what you pay for. Hell no I wouldn't. We have other newer cars. But I still choose to drive mine every day... it's very very dependable. I bought my 86 for $700 barely running, with many things wrong with it. Put a new motor in it ($650) changed the injectors with good ones and fixed previous owner problems... and it's been awesome ever since. Put 25k on it in the past two years, and the only things I've replaced besides upgrade parts are... oil and oil filters... and the stock muffler which was falling apart. -Robert

MikeMeyerhoff
I've daily drove my 84 plymouth for the past two years. It was in poor shape when I got it for $550 (including a brand new set of potenzas). Fixed its problems and it ran fine. Had a steady stream of issues pop up over time and fixed those too for the most part I'd say they are fine as a daily driver, but you will need a back up so you can fix things right when they go wrong. A starquest shouldn't be your only car IMO. Mike
ucw458
There are really no cars IMO that are truly dependable for 1-3k. A case of, you get what you pay for. Not true. I bought my wife's escort for $750. It ran perfect. It had a few minor cosmetic flaws and the struts were a little worn but otherwise ok. We drove that car for 3 years with no problems other than the heated core started leaking. You can find very dependable cars for under 3k You just have to be smart with which car you get and know how to spot the problem areas.
mquester
I drive mine about 3 days a week and weekends. They trick is to make sure everything is right before making it your dd. Tear it down and fix, the parts are cheap when compared to other cars and if your going dd you dont need big boost or crazy settings. Get another car to beat on for that. If I feel the need to beat on a car I hop in my klze probe and give it a thrrrrrrraaaassshing. Damn that mazda can take it.

Coke
Back when I was in high school, my Conquest was my only car. I bought it in January 2003, with 97,500 miles. It was my only car, besides in the winter time when I would take her off the road to save her from the salt on the roads. In October of 2004, I totalled it, with 128,*** miles. She never give me any fuss, during the time I drove her, and I drove her hard, being young and dumb, and all, haha.
