well if any mods dont like this here, just let me know where u move it haha.

But i started this project not too long ago.

1985.5 Porsche 944 N/A

2.5L

5 speed

short term goals..

get the car as close to 2000lbs as possible

i bought the car like this...

http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1450/6269042/21741033/362527813.jpg

http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1450/6269042/21741033/362527812.jpg

http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1450/6269042/21741033/362527811.jpg

http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1450/6269042/21741033/362527810.jpg

http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1450/6269042/21741033/362493041.jpg

the cars interior was SHOT

windshield smashed

non-working electric sunroof

to date (16MAY09) i have

-stripped almost all of the interior

-removed the porsche light inbetween the tails

-added a turbo rear lower valance

-removed the interior HVAC system pictured here

http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1450/6269042/21741033/364524742.jpg

-removed power sunroof motor

-removed the whole dash

-removed cruise control

-removed emissions

-mostly coated the whole interior with bed liner for durability and a hair of sound deadining

right now im in the process of simplifying the wire harness pictured here

(ive gotten more done than whats in this pic...but i havent taken more because my work lights blew out and its 11pm

http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1450/6269042/21741033/364537390.jpg

i also had a nasty rot in the floor board i had to cut out...that i didnt notice until i ripped up the carpet and sound deadining material

http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1450/6269042/21741033/361622079.jpg

here is an older pic of the interior while it was in work...its further than this..but i hope to get up early tomorrow and have the motivation to finish it

http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1450/6269042/21741033/362492876.jpg

i have these seats in the house now that i bought for it

http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1450/6269042/21741033/362527823.jpg

i also have a real nice harness bar thats in the house and not installed.

i found some new front end parts for the car, but ill be changing it with a fiberglass race nose and brake ducts here soon

http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1450/6269042/21741033/362527820.jpg

http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1450/6269042/21741033/362527817.jpg

so as it stands i currently need

-race bumper w/brake ducts (found)

-fixed headlight conversion (found)

-get bend out of one wheel, and find centercap for another, powdercoat wheels black

-get race dash (on its way)

-wire all new aftermarket gauges in

-steering wheel and hub adaptor...maybe quick release (sourced)

-a set of 6 point harnesses

-one more manual latch for the sunroof

-paint car BMW calypso red

http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1450/6269042/21741033/364329785.jpg

stay tuned =)

thats an $8000 engine...lol silly rabbit. thanks for droppin in a checkin' out my process brazil =D

isn't this the car with the tranny in the rear?

nice work!

yep, i have a rear mounted transaxle to give me awesome 50.7%front/49.3%rear weight distribution...not sure what it is now because of the weight reduction, but i plan on putting the car on some scales once i get coil overs to get that distribution back

I almost bought a 944 turbo/951 a while back before I had my E36 M3...Then I sold the M and bought the Quest...I chose a Quest over a 944 purely because the maintenance and cost of those cars is at least 3x the price. And I had plenty of money left over after selling the M to do anything I want to the Quest :D

Dude go flat black like this Carrera GT

http://ilovesubstance.com/images/cars/flat_black/porsche_carrera_gt_flat_black_front.jpg

We live in FL. Just in case you weren't aware...while it is one hot color visually.....Flat black is hotter than gloss black about 600:1. It absorbs it all, and gets crazy hot. Not a good idea...lol Especially if air is to be deleted.

fixed =D

Silver Starquest @ 7:11. I had to do a double take to verify, haha.

PS: A bunch of Porsche owners would stop at a bakery as part of their meet/caravan. Haha

Your all worried about the heat i have 3 reasons why you should do it anyway...

#1 The more you sweat the less you weigh the faster you'll go

#2 On a date the chic would be hot too therefore be motivated to wear less clothing

#3 The car would look so cool said "chic's' would be a plenty

I def recommend Art Morrison for a cage. They are cheap and make very good products. I got a DOM custom made cage for $625 shipped. Way cheaper than anywhere else I could find. project looks good so far..

http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1450/6269042/21741033/366044137.jpg

i didnt use the good camera on that pic

but i also got my new lightweight alternator in, just have to drill the mount holes on it to accept 10mm bolts. and change the pulley over, i guess i also have to re-work the spine on it to accept it...we'll see how that goes
