dude, you picked a pretty tough thing to learn to weld on. welding in those seams there is gonna be liftover paint you cant get out as well as seam sealer and just dirt from years. all with no way you can get the grinder in there good enough to get all of it out. so im sure you had lots of pops and crackles fgoing on that wasnt your fault. the only help for this is to crank the heat up and let the heat burn it away as best it can-without warping or blowing holes in your car. definitely a tough area to do.

and please tell me you covered up your windshield. if not those little spatter bb's will be nasty.

I like the molded sides, I did mine about 3years ago. They look way better molded.

As for welding, your right pure, it splatted quite a bit the first go around, once I turned the heat up it worked really well. I took it slow and let it cool so i didn't warp the metal... Going to do some more tonight, got to get the rears done and more on the inside. I'll keep posting.

Not that i am aware of Sully, the car was for sale on here locally as i remember it , the ad said it was parked went out a couple of weeks later and it wouldnt start so they sold the car. Replaced the timing chains and it runs like new again. The guy david "g54b3ste" i got the car from traded me this car for his first quest that i just picked up....
