For most systems the center of the sensor element needs to be on the leading edge of the 9th tooth at TDC, not the center of the tooth...

Nice work BTW.

Chad,

thanks for the info. i thought the sensor needs to be pointing at the middle of the tooth.

i think this can be easily fixed by making the two holes for the bolts into slots.

check out the picture and let me know.

thanks,

101

i think adding those slots to the bracket will allow adjustment so it can be angled correctly, i didnt know it needed to be on the edge of the tooth.

but if you make into a slot, it could become unadjusted, or shake loose...but i would just torque the heck out of those bolts...

Sounds good 101, I've had problems in the past of removing timing cover bolts on any vehicle and ended up with oil/water leaks. Sometime gasket tear when removing bolts that had silicone around them, or Timing cover slightly warped at point of were gasket seal to engine block and bolt. Not trying to be a pain in the A_ _ to you. Just greatful that you listen to us and try to improve on a design not tried before. Also trying to provide insight on something that might be a simple overlook. Again thanks for all your help. Keep up the good work. Payment sent for two.

Yes, by centered I meant on the non rotating axis. This new one looks 1/4" too far in (closer to the block). Seems like it can be solved by making the spacer tubes slightly longer. Or it maybe different for other engines, washers could be used.

Looks good otherwise.

those slots look perfect, should allow for pelnty of adjustment. Most software systems allow for some adjustment in the sensor phasing anyway but it's always best to start off as close as possible to the correct posistion before you adjust software.

Nice job.

hello,

sorry for the delay.

received tubes to make sleeves but the management locked us out of the shop as they are doing the fumigation for the whole building.

i was noticed but was not sure when but just found out it was today.

they said they will start covering up the building today and it will take 2-3 days to finish.
