ASKING $5500 OBO

This car is almost completely original, and 99.9% OEM.

1986 Mitsubishi Starion Widebody

Black with burgundy interior

2.6 SOHC Turbo @ 7psi

RWD w/ factory LSD

LESS THAN 42k ORIGINAL miles

5 speed manual

Limited Edition Enkei wheels (Limited factory option)

Walbro 255 fuel pump (ONLY part on this car not OEM)

BRAND NEW (less than 300miles) Nitto tires (bought from, mounted & balanced by Big C/ Element Motorsports)

When I picked this car up, it was 100% ORIGINAL, including factory fuel pump, all 3 fuel filters, spark plugs, wires, everything..

ONLY BAD:

I believe there is a SMALL electrical issue in the turn signal relay, cause the signals won't blink with the signal, but WILL with the hazards. And the passenger side headlight will pop up, but not go down on the switch (maybe new motor).

ALL GOOD:

Since I have owned it, I have replaced the fuel pump, all 3 fuel filters, cap, rotor, coil, spark plugs, wires, tires, and had EVERY fluid in the car flushed and filled. The engine, tranny, coolant system, and diff have all been flushed, treated, and filled. This car runs great, and I wouldn't worry about driving it anywhere. Those that went on the Sedona run will vouch for that. I was among the oldest and lowest milage cars out there, lol. This car is damn near flawless, both inside and out. Everything in this car works, including the factory stereo with 12 band EQ, power steering, Power windows, Power door locks, electronic climate control, cruise control, & steering wheel audio controls.. The factory sun visor under the hatch is still in the car, along with the factory spare, & original jack.

This car is a lot of fun to drive, and will get sideways WHEN you want her to. She has a lot of torque, and will pull on an S2K on the freeway in a 5th (Starion), 5th or 6th (S2K) gear roll, and in 3rd & 4th it'll hold it's own ok. This car was top of the line in '86, and $$ to year would be equivalent to a $50k car in todays market.

This car "NEEDS" nothing, and would be great just the way it is. However, if it were built up, it would be mean as hell, and even more fun to drive.

I am ONLY looking for cash offers, and no tire kickers, trash talkers, haters, or BS.. Please hit me up if you have any questions, or offers, thank you.

I doubt you will get that for your car on here.To high for just a flatty with low miles There is a red 87 just listing on here for $4k OBO and it is one of the cleanest cars I have seen in a while. Ebay or craigslist would be your best bet. hell midnightrider89 has been trying to sell his 83 original with 23k miles for over 2 years. He started at over $10k for it and now is a $7k. Good luck on the sale. Happy New Year

LOL.. Where do you see a flatty for sale in this thread dude? And along with not reading the WIDE-BODY part, did you not read the "Ok, so this car is my baby, and if I don't sell it, it won't hurt my feelings.." part? I'm putting it out there. Low miles, rare rims, near mint condition, everything is there and works, with all services and maintenance records from the time it left the showroom.. Either way, It's an option for people.. I really want a 63 ragtop VW Bug, so that's why I'm selling it.

On the Blinker issue, the hazards use a different relay than the blinkers. Go to an auto parts store and get an EL-12 relay and replace the OEM with it. The OEM is squarish, the oem hazard is round like the el-12. Replace the squarish one. I'll guarantee this will fix the blinkers.

Jimmy

Nice car BTW.

yes its a clean car, but, sentimental value and what the car is really worth is two diff. things.

So explain to me why a Chevy thats 40 years old ($2-3k BRAND NEW) can fetch a quarter of a million dollars at an auction???

Because there are tens of thousands of people who want those cars, -AND- they have $$$,$$$.

With regards to our cars, you will find neither  .

I've tried a few times to sell one of mine with 159 miles on it for $20,000, and it has a lot of unique features that no other starquest has (arguably the most valuable quest in the US). I got lots of tire kickers, some interest  , and even a few who wanted to hate on me. I have yet to get a serious buyer.

Keep the car, no one here will want it as much as you feel it's worth.

The 40 Year old chevy question I love this one.

One: When that 40 year old chevy was new the guy or gal that wanted it might not have the coin to procure such a ride back then 2k 4k for a car was allot.

Now fast forward today those 40 to 60 year old guys and gals Now have the cash for thier dream car and want one real bad. So they pay for it.

Now there are alot of cars that I want, we all do, we all have that car that costs a ton and it's just outa reach or not even close, so right now we enjoy the one's we can have starquests, nissan, honda, mitsubishi, the are a ton of low cost rides that we can build up.

Hopefully when we all make our millians and retire and want that one car that we could never get it will show up. then we'll pay

So find a 20 to 25 year old car that people just gota have then ask again why it's worth more now than it was new in o lets say 1988.

Sorry I hope you get what your price and just don't want you to think that just cause the car was 15 to 20k new your going to get it. In another 20 to 25 years maybe but i just don't see it right now

If your not in that big of a rush to sell it jjust enjoy it save up and that deam car of yours will show up

I can't believe you would trade it over a bug.

Nice car; just keep pimping it :)

LOL, I've just always wanted a 63 ragtop to cruise around in.

I haven't found anything anyways, so it looks like keeping i is what I'll be doin anyways.. Awww shucks, lol

Haha... one of my 86 starions has the same problem with the passenger headlight. Goes up... but not down. Pretty annoying if you ask me. I'm probably going to relay the wiring from left side over to the right to fix it.

My turn signal in my other 86 sometimes refuse to blink, even though I have the EL12.

86 FTW... good luck with the sale!!

So if you guys think he is asking too much, not that I disagree but I am curious what you guys would say it is actually worth in such good shape? :?:

whatever he paid for it before nabbing it and marking it up for resale maybe ?
