Aftermarket Wheels?

Just wondering how many people have aftermarket wheels on their Starquest?  I like the stock wheels but mine are pretty oxidized and I'm always looking to make my cars look original.  I surprisingly have only seen a couple of starquests with aftermarket wheels.

I would like to hear your guys opinion on the subject.

Anybody have any pics of your or someone elses car with different wheels? Post em up.

BTW here is a link to a Conquest with a Grand National motor swap and Racing Hart Wheels. http://www.ls1speed.com/mazda.cfm

I have AR 17x8 and 17x9. the fronts are a little wider than stock but they still fit inside the wheel well nicely.

Yeah mine are the ROH Snyper 17x8 in front and 17x9 in back. I had Sumitomo 215/45 zrs put on and 245/40/ zrs on back. Cost me $1400 total mounted and balanced shipped to my door. I wanted to make both my cars different, so I went aftermarket with this car. They are really nice, and well worth the 1400.

yeah I was digging the wheels on the yellow quest too, until I realized how much they must cost, and it certainly looks like it required some modding to get them to fit.  I agree with you on the rim choosing. It took me hours just to figure out what shifter knob to get for my car. lol  Of course we don't have nearly as many options on choosing rims that fit directly and perfectly, so I didn't have a super hard time choosing.

Hey starquestDJ did you have to use any spacers for the rear on your car?  I've been lookin at some roh wheels and just wonder if they fit no prob or will they need spacers for the rear?  I've been to the website and it makes no mention of backspacing.  Just wondering if 18x9 and 18x10 will fit in a ford mustang offset?

thanks

Kane

The rims on the yellow quest are made by Simmons.  Its a completely custom wheel, I know the fronts are 17's, don't know the width on it, but the rears are 18x10's.  I think the set costs arround $3000 for that specific model in the conquest fitment.

If you want something like that I would recommend CCW's, they look almost exactly like that, but are used a lot by road race guys.  I called them not too long ago and they quoted me $360 per rim, not too bad, much cheaper than the Simmons.

I dont have any aftermarket rims but ive got a set of widebody rims im working on for my flatsider, they arent in great shape but ive sandblasted most of them and im gonna powder coat them black.  should be a nice offset.  ive seen alot of people paint the stock rims also.  i love those rims on the yellow quest.  i also like the old race mesh wheels, very sharp.

I mocked these wheels up last night- I'd need spacers and regular street tires. These are 295/40 hoosier slicks  I don't really like the way the front wheel has no deep dish as well- oh yeah if you had spacers these 295 wide slicks would fit fine- Might have to roll the lip slightly but maybe not- They barely hit the strut as it sits

All it would take are some spacers front and rear and skinnier tires up front maybe some 235/40 or 225/35/17s

I'll post a better pic later on

Here's a better shot of the rear tire width. note how it is fully inside the wheelwell. This slick is the equivelant of a 295 series tire! I found another guy selling a set of these wheels but not exactly the same backspacing as these. His were on a Chrsyler 300m-

Is the blue car lowered at all? I was just wondering i have a blue quest and i like those wheels and the way that car stands.
