  1. Sorry if I bashed you, I guess I just need to accept that not everyone that has these cars wants to go all out race with it. I commend you on your efforts and originality, it just seems like IMO the stock suspension was fine under it. Just out of curiosity what made you choose the mustang II front end? I don't know much about them but it seems like if you order a clip its an easy way to get a rack and pinion steering on the car.
  2. Don't want to sound like an a** but are you really going to run 315's in the front? It is going to take you forever and a day to get those tires up to temperature and make the steering wheel heavy. Do you have any data showing that the tire sizes available under stock fenders arn't big enough? I guess my point in all of this random ranting is that IMO you might want to spend some time doing research on how to select the proper tire sizes. I too would like to see some info on your suspension geometry if and when you have it available.
  3. For some reason I think its going to wind up looking quite a bit like this mustang http://www.maierracing.com/images/mike2004chmp3large.jpg
  4. I'm just curious, how are you going to weld stainless to regular steel?
  5. Just want to give an update on what's goin on with this. Been trying to avoid posting this... The project is going to be put off until spring or summer. I'm swamped right now with college and building formula cars. We are about to start building an all new car with no parts changeover from other years and need to have it completed by mid March..... Yes, 4 months to build a car from scratch. This will definately happen now that i'm pretty sure I'm keeping my car and it needs to be done for the community. Now if everyone could just agree as to what style will be done since I only really see the need to do OEM replacement and 1 non stock one.
  6. wow, ooooooooooooooooooooooold post, been digging dcrasta?
  7. DO NOT USE THAT COMPANY. I had a lowering kit from them that I installed on my 94 dakota. The bolts for the rear hangers were off by almost a 1/4 inch, the spindles mounts (on the ball joint) were about 1/8th inch too short and their springs wore out too fast and sagged like hell. Their customer service sucks also. I called many times to ask for a return or exchange for parts that would fit and they said they would not be able to do so unless I e-mailed them a scan of the part and a scan of the frame where it was supposed to bolt up (how do I get my frame inside the house and on the scanner?) airbagit.com is a horrible company, they are part of AIM, I honestly would never buy anything from them again.
  8. This is now probably going to have to wait until the spring to get completed. I've been busting my a** building a Formula SAE car and it probably won't be done any time soon. It's my first priority right now, need to get that out of the way before I start getting crazy with fiberglass.
  9. I think I like the first two but would like other peoples input on it first. I also might start making side skirts, and rear diffusers to complete the package. I think it is about time someone starts making tasteful body kits for these cars.
  10. Need some input on this, I am going to start the buck for the factory replica one this weekend.
  11. baseball bat and take your time, go in slow increments and don't use too much pressure.
  12. I am about to start work on a plug for a mold of an aftermarket style front bumper that I can make more of, assuming people are interested. I need help from all of you in deciding what you want made. Keep in mind, these will be either fiberglass or carbon fiber depending on how layup for the cf goes. And no, I'm not just BSing yall, this will really happen, but only in my spare time can this get done. So, please post some of the artist renditions that you want made the most, I will pick the most popular of the ones out there and reproduce it in real life. I am nothing more than a starquester who wants to make an aftermarket one for my car, and thought I'd share it with yall. Pricing will be cheap too, as of right now I believe it will be $275 for fiberglas and $425 for carbon, need to check with the other guy helping me do this before I state firm prices. Also, I will be doing replicas of the stock 88/89 air dams to replace the diminishing supply of stock urethane ones. Let me know if anyone is interested, each one will be made to order.
  13. Denver has been bragging about your products and customer service. His great words about it has made me want to use one on my personal car. I will make sure to order one as the next evolution of my car. Now I just need to get some money :-/
  14. Nope, it was for sale, but I am keeping it now. recent financial issues are keeping me from getting a new car so I might as well have as much fun with this one as possible. The car has been broken for a few weeks now, my turbo took a huge crap and the only thing salvageable on it is the center section. I'm selling all my spare parts to try to buy a 19c from a friend of mine to get my car back on the road. I did get the new springs for the distribuiter, but installed them after the turbo went bad. NEVER buy heads from Cylinder Heads Intl. They bead blast and don't clean up afterwards, and I had no idea. So when I went to take the turbo to get it checked out to make sure it was under warranty they pulled it apart and quite a bit of sand was in the bearings. I did pull the oil pan to check and see if the bearings are still good and they look like I just installed them, and the cam and rockers are in good condition also, so it looks like I lucked out this time, hope it doesn't happen again in the future. This could have been a lot more expensive.
  15. It does not come with coil packs, its pretty well set up to work with just about any sensor that comes on the car from what I understand. I guess the price is just about on par with SDS after you buy the crank trigger wheel and the map sensor and coils. I am going to use this product on my daily driver when I go with my individual throttle body setup and a huge turbo (gt40).
  16. I hear rumors that the next version is supposed to data log and correct your maps for you, and do traction control, and have outputs for whatever else you'd want. I'm on the UTA FSAE team, new this year
  17. I'd highly reccomend these guys to anyone that is looking for a really good stand alone for their cars. In my opinion this company sells a better product than Motec, Electromotive, Haltech, Autronic and SDS. I do not have one personally installed on my car. But the Formula SAE team I am on uses one, and we swear by it. Customer support is there all the way, prices are great (better than SDS) and they are easy to tune with a wideband. http://www.pe-ltd.com
  18. That's Romeo's car, it recently had a fire because of a leaky fitting if I remember correctly. He is fixing it though. From what I hear its incredibly nice in person.
  19. If you request for them to make a close baseline map for the mods you have they will for no extra charge. I asked them to get it close for an 18g turbo and the TEP 284 cam and its dead on for a street car. I have not been able to romp on it 100% yet because of distribuiter troubles but it seems like an almost perfect map so far. Yes, that's right.... perfect.
  20. against the firewall. No offense man, but that car looks like a home depot special
  21. I'm finally getting towards having my car run right so that I can get my car on the dyno. It looks to me like all of the kits have the same ecu's, but the main difference is the Pro-2 Kit comes with new injectors that are the same size as the factory secondaries, but are disk style so that it will have a MUCH better idle quality and fuel mixture. I too need to thank Ed and Scott for putting up with my constant phone calls and getting my kit to me in a rush even with the terrible weather they had.
  22. I personally think it would look cool to do the audi style door handles, but I would get rid of the seam between the door and the hinge part for the handle, so all you have is the recess for your fingers to fit in, and the auctual part that you pull
  23. Thanks for posting that link for me, I've been away from my computer long enough to check up on all my threads recently. Â Homework is killing me in college now, looks like I'm stuck to strickly weekend wrenching, I don't think the university would appreciate me revving and whatnot at 2:00am. I had a friend go and check the dyno place out for me, it's $30 for 3 pulls on saturdays, not wednesdays, i don't know where I got that from.
  24. tazmaticus, what rims are those? I love that black one you have in your pics, it looks sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet
