speedyquest
I understand the idea of wanting to increase your cars reliability, but deleting your oil cooler is definitely not a positive step in that direction. That system does not regularly fail on these cars and it has a very vital job to do which works towards the very thing your attempting to do, increase your cars reliability. If your not familiar with what your oil cooler system does and why its so beneficial, do a bit of research and you will see.
Turbo Cary
Most cars now are built with oil coolers for longevity. Why do you think most cars now take 5-6 quarts of oil minimum and most trucks are running between 6-9 quarts of oil. It's because they add oil coolers and increase the sump size. Less oil and more heat is prone to more failure. With our cars being turbo charged you 100% want to keep an oil cooler on your vehicle. The turbo runs so hot under heavy load it can and will cook your oil if it cannot be cooled. The manual also states that after driving you should let the engine idle for 30-60 seconds to allow the turbo to cool off. If you shut it down suddenly the oil in the turbo gets heated up even more (due to the lack of flow) and burns up. So I would also suggest adding a turbo timer if you live in high heat or do lots of racing around.
