wrngwae
What do you need to know? It's a easy swap. Wide block to wide block. Clean the gas out of the fuel system. And it takes power to the single wire to the fuel pump on the 4d55. That pump is the lift pump and the injection pump

Galant turbo
I love this swap! But I really can not understand why, -easy to fit -OK. But the 4d56 is not really a great engine in any other way than to produce smoke when tuned for power. All the smoke is lost horsepower! The video from Thailand previously posted is a completely different engine than this one. That one is the common rail version and has nothing in common with this engine besides 4cylinder Diesel and a certain ratio between bore and stroke. -It is an completely different engine. I have worked with the 4d56 in an engine laboratory to make it produce more power in a reliable way, that was not easy. This original engine is very old in its construction and design is from the 1970s. We did however manage to produce a system that did not put to much extra strain on the engine. These systems were sold world wide and approved by Mitsubishi and mounted in their assembly lines in Brazil and Malaysia. But beside the amount of power output, these engines are not that good. In Europe you can find this engine in Mitsubishi L200/Pajero/Montero. Very common here in different versions. And they are worth absolutely nothing. But we also did some other interesting development work for Mitsubishi! In Brazil they have a race very similar to Paris-Dakar. -Rally dos Sertoes. I do not remember exactly, 2003 or 2004. We built the engines for the Mitsubishi factory team (4D56). 1.2.3 -place was Mitsubishi. http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h42/Galant_turbo/MCS/rally1.jpghttp://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h42/Galant_turbo/MCS/rally2.jpghttp://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h42/Galant_turbo/MCS/rally3.jpghttp://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h42/Galant_turbo/MCS/rally4.jpghttp://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h42/Galant_turbo/MCS/rally5.jpg
Galant turbo
And there is a video from that race, I am sorry if this is a bit off topic, but it is a funny video. 4D56 Power!

jinx
what a bunch of crazy fools! They must all have a death wish. Super tough course The 4d56 makes the power, survives an endurance race, and sweeps the podium..... but its not a good motor ??How so ?
Galant turbo
Video didn't work for me. Please try again if you are interested, this one should work worldwide, although this specific video was placed on a friend of mines YouTube-place.This is a short version of the Seratoes Race that year, But it is very spectacular! what a bunch of crazy fools! They must all have a death wish. Super tough course The 4d56 makes the power, survives an endurance race, and sweeps the podium..... but its not a good motor ??How so ? The 4d56 at that point made about 180Hp, -not that impressive. But it still, -it survived the race. You can push this engine further, but it will brake down in seconds.
