  1. Yep, still bent. Yes, I will redesign the rear. Sitting a little too tall. Haven't changed them because they are serving a purpose for now. The body is on the chassis now and I have to do a little more trimming on the firewall. I may just bend the next ones as well, Xtreme, just to get you fired up. (haha) Just kidding.
  2. Here she is. Ready for the body. Soon the hard part will begin. http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l543/autotr8er/Mobile%20Uploads/D1499F6F-BC7E-4530-8E22-F93742368AF3.jpg http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l543/autotr8er/Mobile%20Uploads/95BD567C-266E-4471-A75A-13E69DD084D7.jpg http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l543/autotr8er/Mobile%20Uploads/59A91D5E-E279-4BCF-AC9F-BECE2CC4EE97.jpg
  3. The roller has landed. http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l543/autotr8er/Mobile%20Uploads/EF4C4A0B-0FA9-4517-8591-D3EB927AC944.jpg
  4. I'll just post this here... It's a video of John' s car passing a GTR at the LVMS during the Optima Street Car Invitational.
  5. I'll let Convette post some. I've been sworn to secrecy.
  6. No, the SAI wasn't measured. I didn't have the steering rack, front brakes or a means to hold the air in the shocks. The toe is out as well. The two of us had to synchronize our turns as best we could. The only measurements I was worried about was front caster and camber, rear camber and thrust angle. Everything else can be tuned.
  7. Its coming soon. I have to install the floors next and any additional work that I need to do on the underside. Trying desperately not to get ahead of myself. I'm eager to get the body on as well. I have an illustrator I'm working with to draw the concepts of the final body design and it would help greatly for him to see the actual roller. Stay tuned. I also have a facebook page. "580Kongquest" It's easier to share info to those outside the forum. Richard
  8. What is your budget and resource level? Resource meaning tools, skills, space and additional labor (help). That will determine how much of a swap you can do. What are your goals for the car? Race, Show, Daily Driver? Its really not about what has been overdone or cheap initially. It's the length of time you intend to keep the car and the ability to keep it maintained. The LS swaps are so popular due to the overwhelming aftermarket support available. I encourage you to research more about the engine you choose. It's going to make or break you. Richard
  9. The rear before any adjustments were made. http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l543/autotr8er/Mobile%20Uploads/75165123-B413-47CF-8589-254F18018DB3.jpg Rear. Spot on. http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l543/autotr8er/Mobile%20Uploads/2863B67A-EB36-46C9-B10D-AED45D94779B.jpg Both of the readings. Top is the front and bottom is the rear. The red on the toe was due to not having the steering rack installed. http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l543/autotr8er/Mobile%20Uploads/0FB5EBEE-4641-4769-8016-DAE709E4DBBF.jpg
  10. Rolled the chassis for the alignment check today http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l543/autotr8er/Mobile%20Uploads/C1E1BC90-C8F3-4FF9-A63E-0DF539F23454.jpg Ihttp://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l543/autotr8er/Mobile%20Uploads/BB986DE6-6321-4459-BA21-570FB0DF5658.jpg http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l543/autotr8er/Mobile%20Uploads/BF4B016A-7C87-4B11-A7DC-4344BE88C427.jpg
  11. 5.3 iron block from a truck. cheap and parts are easy to get.
  12. I attended the SEMA show and was able to see John's car. Awesome. Watched him race the car a bit on the autocross before I had to leave for my flight home. So cool. While I was at the show, the Optima production team interviewed me and should be airing this Friday. We'll see if I make the final production cut. My deadline has moved up to August. Going to try and make the challenge when it comes to Austin. If any of you are working in the automotive industry from working at a garage, tire store, or any automotive related business, I encourage you to go, even if its on your own dime. It was a rewarding experience for me. Richard
  13. I was able to see the car in Vegas. There were a lot of changes done to this beast. Love this car!
  14. Air Ride, Baby!!! Body is still sitting above the frame. Next step is to take the chassis to an alignment shop to verify everything is where it's supposed to be. Enjoy the video! http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l543/autotr8er/Mobile%20Uploads/th_56785D01-7C22-493C-9F9E-683F95803C10.jpg
  15. This is a great idea!
  16. I'm not offended at all. I really appreciate all feedback. It makes this project much more rewarding to me.
  17. I'm agreeing with you, D-VO. You are 100% correct as the setup is shown now. Just wait and see. You will understand. I truly appreciate your enthusiasm and concern. Richard
  18. D-VO, you are correct. The forces present however are outside the logo. It's just real estate designed to help me position the bracket. Have a little faith in me, it's 3/16" steel. When you see the final installation, you will understand.
  19. Completed upper shock mounting bracket http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l543/autotr8er/Mobile%20Uploads/C99307CD-FC61-4A3C-8565-58B2024B9034.jpg
