ALL LOWERED STARQUEST POST PICS!

Recommended Posts

I still have them, but they are only used for car shows and such, I cant risk getting them stolen etc.. yeah I had about 5 set of rims at one point hahaha.. only have 2 now. The first pic is with MK1 shocks and Cosmo coil overs.. thats as low as they would go, as you can see the rear was still high. The sig pic is with D2s and I think I still have a couple of inches to spare to go lower. Much better in every way than the Cosmos.

Can go 2 inches lower front and 3 back.http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll231/nomad1856/1027001600.jpg Edited by nomad

Here it is when I bought it...Previous owner was an r'tard and put the springs in backwards, hence the rake and major front tuckage on just eibach springs.

Here it is now, bottomed out on Ground Control coilovers on Mookeeh struts w/Mookeeh camber plates in rear and pillow ball camber plates up front. I could go further but that would involve removing the top hat or adjustable part of the lower collar and figuring something out that way...Would rather keep the adjustability.

How does it ride with the GC/mookeeh combo?

Pretty good, I just recently got the car running MPI and was just driving it around the neighborhood but it seemed pretty nice. About the same as the eibachs and stock struts, and that was after going with lower profile tires and anti-roll bars (which make it handle better but really didn't sacrifice any comfort).

I used to be really against lowering me car but this thread has definetly changed my mind, starquests look good low. What height would you guys say keeps the comfortability that you arnt going to lose your airdam in regular driving but is still lower than stock? And seeing as I already scrape my tailpipe a little going into the driveway what do you guys recommend?

2" drop on D2's, ST swaybars and Stedibani bushings.

Will eventually have the car stanced... just haven't found the right wheels yet.

I was looking at my car and thinking about what it would look lowered and I noticed that if it was any lower it might look funny that the rear wheels are tucked in so much. Do you guys use spacers?

I'm gonna put another half inch of poke on each side in the rear and remove the coil spring perches which should drop it down another 3/8" of an inch (my estimate as to the thickness of the perches).

Yeah that has been pretty hit or miss so far--made it myself out of some aluminum flashing and an old chrome shift bezel I had laying around from my Hurst shifter on my pickup. I'll have to use the frame as a template and make one out of stainless or aluminum as that one is starting to corrode already. Oh well.

With D2's you can go as low as you want and if you set up the spring rate right it will still be comfortable. As for the driveway, place 2x4s where you drive up. "Low Life"

Lowering springs for sure. I'm dropped on ST's and my 3" exhaust hits the ground sometimes. I want coilovers but second guess sometimes when I scrape lol.
