Minagera
Grant don't burn down your house... I think it would be good really, but I am not sure it would be in the best interest of your arteries.
GoFastBeater
Ham is already cured. It doesn't need cooked like a turkey. Deep fryer probably won't do much for it.
DSMvirus1
dont fry it frozen.

quikconq
I grilled my turkey this year on my good ole charcoal grill. And was very good and moist. When I seen this post I Instantly thought grill it. I think I'm gonna try it ,,sounds good to me.
Guest
BAcon? Give it a shot, tell us what it taste like. Be sure to deep fry it in pig lard, you know, for that extra heart attack enducing effect!
Fanta
Hmm, being that most hams are already cured and such, I think you're better off sticking with the classic oven way. Ensures a nice candied type crust too IMO
Indiana
A turkey is full of water, a ham is full of grease. The only thing worse than an unbaked ham is bologna. Its cured yes that's just some method to flavor and pickle it and you can eat it that way but if you think that's what ham is SUPPOSED to taste like you are missing out. Fanta
.... people eat holiday ham's raw?
89PalermoSHP
The reason its called "ham" and not "pork" is because its has been cured and smoked. There is no such thing as raw ham. There is cold ham but not raw ham.
lmwii
curing and smoking do not cook the ham. my family and friends of my family have killed hogs and put up hams since before i was born. just last week i had country ham (cured and salted ham) that was made by a friend of my family. it had to be cooked. no offense minnesota, but i won't tell you about lutefisk and you don't tell us about ham
89PalermoSHP
No offense taken... Ham is a cut of meat from the thigh of the hind leg of an animal, especially pigs.[1] Nearly all hams sold today are fully cooked or cured.
lmwii
cured OR cooked - i'll agree with that.
89PalermoSHP
Well, common sense goes a long way. The best suggestion would be to follow the directions on the packaging for safe preparation and serving.

C300
we get a ham at the reduced holiday price and have it sliced 3/4" thick. v/pack individuly and fry one up for breakfast. deep frying it can't ruin it. it will change the taste, good or bad, don't know.
