http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/z432/verde2002/Boyds8.jpgSo I just picked up these vintage Boyds 2-piece wheels. Brand new sitting in storage for over 20 years. I am contemplating painting the center gold and leaving the outer polished aluminum. Maybe paint the center a different color? Ideas? My car is red. The specs on the wheels are 16x10.5 rears -12 offset and 16x9 fronts with positive +12mm offset. I am hoping this will fit perfectly with no need for spacers. Center cap on or off? I think it looks way meaner without the center cap, especially if I paint the inner part of the wheel face.

Don't listen to these haters man. Those are some bad donkey rims.

My recommendations:

no ceter caps

polish them up real nice and don't paint them

put stock shp size tires (245/45/16 and 225/50/16)

rock the house

Some of you that don't like the wheels, I understand, not everyones cup of tea. When I originally saw them I wasn't impressed either with them but once I removed the center cap I realized that is what threw me off and liked the look without them. Picture the center a different color so there is contrast along with the polished aluminum deep dish style and to me they look pretty sweet. A bit of imagination and I think you will agree they aren't half bad. As for tires I will probably use my stock tires off of my SHP wheels for the time being as I don't have the cash for a new set. At some point I would like to go 275/40 or something close to that in the rear and 245's in the front. Edited by verde2002

I love the rims. Need to see them with some tires on them and with the car on the ground. Keep em.
