The other day on the way to work a license plate said "SICKC6" in front of me...I pass him up and for along time he was behind me and I didn't let him pass...he was on my tail. When we got the chance to be head to head (less traffic) he tried to pull on me 4 different times...all he got was a nose on me if that...I started to pull away from him hard after about 2 seconds of being head to head. He looks over on after the 3rd pull and grins and yells "That's Fast!" I am running about 16-18 psi (gauge is off) and 20* final timing. I guess I need to move on to bigger fish...or snakes...vipers...I'll crank the boost up to 25-28 psi range.

NICE! but id be a little hesitant to try a viper buddy those arent toys and would eat you alive on a straight away .challenge a viper to a sanctioned track then you might win (alot of sharp turns will guarantee you a win)

LOL that is why I won't do it till I get my timing under 28 psi correct..then maybe. wink...heck I'll try now just to see how far I am lagging. But yeah I need a track...the roads get short quick even on empty toll roads.

I'd like to see you out on the highway in my C5! You must be making some serious power with that swap though. I think up around 4th, 5th and 6th it would be a different story though, no offense just my .02..

All of these pulls were in 3rd or 4th. 50 mph was the slowest we rolled from. I can break the tires loose at 60 mph without using the clutch. 245/50 new not bald. Also mine is not a stock 2jz swap.

I was running around 16-18 psi so my numbers cannot be that far off from these guys especally with all the supported mods and less weight.

Full boost @3500 rpm.. I think maybe I am in the low 400...I am being conservative. the turbo A/R is about a 1.05 or 1.10 ..whatever a 16cm2 is. Twinscroll all the way through. Up top it just goes an goes. Edited by Laodicea

Have you taken it to a tuner yet? You always get more power that way.

Honestly ..I don't see the need...my A/F are good...the only thing they may be able to do is adjust the retard in the timing + or - a few degrees from I have. I doubt it will make 10-20 hp difference from what i have it tuned at...and I don't want to spend rediculous amounts of money on something I already know how to do....with my computer. Now if I had a different computer that I don't know or is really hard to get the value right, then maybe. Oh I will take it to a dyno and run some passes and then fine tune it for timing. I have talked to the guys at Racetech for years and they tell me tuning it myself on the street will yield me better results for tuning because it is real world driving with the elements of way the car runs on the road. They told me the most difference they squeezed out of the dyno was another 13 hp. So to me I can do it myself...I am no newbie..I have a background in electronics, chemistry, computers, engine building...etc...

Just thinking about a few things, the base C6 has 430HP and weighs less than the Starion does, with more rubber on the ground and better aero. You must be up over 500 HP to hang with it, but the C6 is geared to do 170+ so that's what I meant by the upper gears. I had my Quests up over 150 (speedo pinned) and it was a nervous experience, in my C5 it's not hectic at all.

ls2's are 400 crank ls3's are 430ish, ls7's are 505, ls9's are 620.

as for the corvette being lighter, if I recall the lightest factory corvette is 3200 lbs or around there, and that would be the zr-1. as for the corvette having better aero, it probably does have more aerodynamic efficentcy, but it definately creates more downforce, which means more drag. Also, a really big factor in aerodynamic drag is not just the coefficent, but the surface area of the front of the car. That coefficent is rather useless without taking surface area into consideration. The corvette is a bigger car than the starion. So when it comes to aero, i'd say its a push between the two. Ones more efficent but creates more downforce and has more surface area. if he has low 400's hp and the c6 is an ls2, i can easily see the to being toe to toe for a while.

Also, just because your a/f ratio is what you want it at doesn't mean your making the most power you can across the board. A lot of times tuners find power in the lower and higher ranges where peak power isn't being made. I'm all for tuning by yourself, but it takes a long time to get things anywhere near perfect. If you've been tuning the car by yourself for a while then you probably have unlocked a good majority of the power, but seeing as your talking about needing to get your timing adjusted to throw more boost at it i doubt you have your tune completely sorted out.

just my thoughts
