Looking to buy a very nice 1988-1989 Starion or Conquest around the $10,000-$20,000 range.
Preferences are 5 speed, black interior, and no sunroof, mostly stock to completely stock. Minimal rust and very clean inside and out. I will accept white cars with any color interior, as well as Durban or Fiji Conquests. I am in CT but will buy from anywhere in US if seller is honest (shouldn't have a problem on this site).

Oil Seepage

87 Quest ~ 70K miles.
The engine has some oil seeping (was told it killed my alternator)
I called it seepage because I may have some drips here and there on the floor, not a puddle.
I notice some towards the back of the valve cover, how big of a job to replace the gasket?
I see some on the front of the engine on top of the head gasket right where it sticks out between the head and the block,
can't tell if it's seeping there or coming through the valve cover gasket and pu

Bad Alternator?

Is it guaranteed bad alternator if engine stops by disconnecting the battery?
Measuring batt voltage at terminals with car running (just under 12 v).
Fuse 13 and fuse link B looks good.
I have not disconnected/cleaned ground terminal from batt yet (figured I'd have starting issues if bad)
Batt light on dash is on w/car running
Brake light on dash is on with cat running and illuminates brighter if I actually pull the hand brak
