Long story short, a "highly recommended" local engine builder has had my block for nearly 9 months. Every time it looks like I will get it back he comes up with a lame excuse telling me something else needs done or he's not happy with the pistons, crankshaft etc. etc. This time he says the casting on the inside of the block is very rough and tells me he can pull bits of metal off.
