how do i tell if my 87 is in the first half year or second half year on build my car is currently not here so i cant check it but i have the vin to look it up or check

I put the MAF on a pipe going to the throttle body inlet?   I have no intercooler piping but need to move it up a hill and into the garage, so, it needs to run for maybe a minute...lol   But, should it start and run?   An 87 btw. None of this 86 mumbo jumbo.

well my a.c wont work and it makes no sense. any button i press it beeps and sends the signal but something is obviously not working i just dont know.
