Anyone have experience with Mazda RF diesel motors?
By TexasQuest,
I've got an opportunity to buy my friends 1984 ford escort with the mazda 2.0 diesel motor in it for $100. He says it runs but I haven't seen the car in close to a year but it ran well when I saw it. Just wondering if anyone has tinkered with these engines or any 4 cyl diesel engine for that matter since I'm a noob at diesels. I'm thinking a quick flip on this car for some extra cash. Oh and it averages right around 40 mpg.

Need help on swap
By 86FlatValour,
Well, can't sell the Starion for what I want. I'm tired of dealing with the 54B. I've got a couple ideas: 2JZ 1JZ 7M 4G63/64 2.4L turbo 2JZ is expensive and i already want one in the Max. So no. 1JZ same as above for pricing 7M pretty cheap fro complete drivetrain butt can not find swap info? 4G63/64 (2.4L/2.3L/2.1L and DOHC Turbo). Still scared of reliability. 2.4L reliable fairly quick stock. I want to 2.4L it as i can get and engine from a 90's Stratus for like $100 from the Junkyard
kyb front strut mounts/bearings
By jmactenn,
Just replaced the front shock cartridges, dust boots, bump stops. and mount bearings. Now I'm getting noises from the strut towers and i noticed the bearing rubber sean to extend upward about an inch when I lower the car onto it's wheels. I believe that's allowing the spring perch to be to close to the underside of the mount. I seem to remember someone had problems with new mounts back around 2000. Has anyone else had problems with the bearing rubbers extending to far?
