Rebuilding rear brake calipers - at wits end :(

Hey all I stripped down my working rear calipers to have the bodies powdercoated. In doing so i removed everything including all the ebrake stuff. Now ive got them back, and am re-assembling them, im having a really hard time getting the e-brake actuating lever back in. Ive followed the FSM and reassembled the spring washers on the centre pin correctly, and threaded this back into the piston. It now turns freely as per FSM. The problem is, when i use my 'special' tool to compress the spring wash

Durban is back on the Road
